Whilst the adult book section is not particularly large by some libraries' standards they do have a nice selection of books.
Where Whitchurch library really excels though, is in its children's book collection. Growing up I spent many happy hours browsing and borrowing books from here, and found that the selection was regularly updated with the latest popular releases, which I believe is still the case. What's more, the library also holds storytime sessions on Mondays and has many simple literary themed competitions (I remember being most proud of winning a colouring competition when I was 6).
However adults should not feel left out! There is a book group meeting every third Wednesday, and a separate study area, which has newspapers and reference books.
The librarians are all very helpful and willing to make suggestions if you're not quite sure what you're after. Also if the book you want is not on the shelf or on loan they're more than willing to order it in for you (a free service for children). read more
