The food is terrific! We tried the spicy and regular edamame because it was happy hour- both were great. We always rate the food first.... But there are a couple other things to know about this place. 1. It's small (cute) and almost always packed. 2. It's really not a place for kids- no kids menu and nothing but sushi.

    Sushi

One of the best sushi spots in fort mill! Good variety of sushi rolls and also have low carb options. Appetizer options are also great!

Cash payment with still a 4% credit card charge. Dishonest business practices will have me never return.

The nigiri was fine; the pressed hamachi didn't have much taste. I would call it the most boring version of sushi style grandma's meatloaf with zero taste and lacking fish on half of it. I was still going to give them a second try until I got the bill. The one thing in life that makes me the most angry is definitely dishonest and stealing! I had a 3% merchant fee on my cash payment. I had them return the money but it's on principle! Don't steal money from you customers!

This is a relatively new, Japanese fusion restaurant in Fort Mill...and I believe it's a small, growing chain...as there area 2 other sister locations...another one in SC, and one in Georgia. The place is small, but long, sleek and nicely layed out. Decor was minimalistic chic, with some cool lightings showcased in the bar area. They also featured cool overhead music, but it was on too low. Acoustics were quite loud in there, and I thought maybe louder music would have worked better. The bar area itself was really nice, and I appreciated their comfy high chairs. I know this because initially when we arrived at around 5:30 pm, the only seats available were these high chairs by the bar. Luckily, we were able to move to a dining table as it opened up about 5 minutes after we were seated at the bar area. Once seated, we ordered several items to share....Spicy Garlic Edamame, Dragon Roll, Glazed Unago & Avocado Maki and Glazed Unagi & Avocado Pressed Sushi....and finally, this Matcha Cheesecake. Everything was good...but I was most impressed with the dessert. Not only delicious, but loved its chef-inspired presentation! Sadly, that was not the case for the sushi rolls. While delicious enough, the presentation was disappointing. Even for their Pressed Sushi, the presentation was a bit weak...looked nothing like the picture I saw on Yelp. Of all the sushi rolls, think the Dragon Roll was actually the tastiest. I also loved their Edamame...especially so because of their unique spicy sauce! For drinks, my husband got beer (as usual!)...OMB, I think? I got the Neon Coconut...and again, a bit disappointed. The presentation was a yawn...again, nothing like the picture shown on Yelp. The taste was good, but not as strong as I like it. For some reason, I expected better cocktails here...stronger alcohol, and again, fancier presentation. Overall, I really enjoyed this restaurant...but sadly, there were some disappointments. Service was quite slow...but it was a packed house, so understandable. Also, again, I thought they could have cranked up the presentation of the sushi rolls (and the cocktail!). Still, I felt they deserved at least 4 stars...such a great addition to Fort Mill!

We came here while we were on a business trip for a quick drink. I was able to order the sake and it was delicious. Very plentiful as well. Came in the nice clay pot with the traditional cup.

I came here for food and drink but only got a drink because me missed the happy hour sushi special. Drink had fresh ingredients. Was located conveniently in downtown fort mill. There were also poke bowls available. Decor was sleek and moody.

My husband wanted to check out Whitaker's for our Saturday date night. We parked in the lot behind the restaurant and entered from the back. We were seated immediately as it as a little after 5:00. Nice clubby ambience. I ordered a Paper Plane Chase cocktail while hubby had a Sapporo. Very tasty! We started off with a sashimi sampler. Delicious slices of salmon, yellowtail and tuna. Then bruleed salmon with truffles, so delicate! Finished off with a tempura shrimp roll which was yummy, sizable and filling. Our server was attentive and professional. We will be back, especially for the happy hour specials Monday through Friday from 4 to 7.

Blueberry lavender cocktail, salmon carpaccio, tuna tataki

The food is amazing here. The salmon carpaccio was my favorite. The ponzu sauce is flavorful and the dishes are pretty. I also got the tuna tataki. Thick pieces of tuna served it a bowl, while pretty, would have been better on a plate so you can cut it yourself into smaller pieces. Happy hour prices of $7 each from 4-7pm. I got the blueberry lavender cocktail ($11) and it was divine. Such a delicate flavor. Several gals got a glass of wine for $5 and it was a very healthy pour. I added a garlic sesame tuna taco ($4) and it was also very flavorful. Someone here really knows how to put flavors together. The only food I didn't care for was the crunchy salmon roll. It was very dry. The inside does not have many tables. If you have a larger group, there are 2 large booths upstairs that can fit a total of 12 people. Our waitress was very sweet and did an excellent job, especially since she mentioned it was only her 3rd day. The atmosphere is very sparse on the upper floor. The building was a bank building built in 1911. The bottom floor booths looked more cozy. The ONLY reason I am not giving this place a 5 star is because they do not accept cash. I personally only use cash. I hate to use a credit card. You could be washing dishes here if you forgot your card, so be wary.

I was hoping to see Albert(a) Wine-Stein aka, Amanda and she did not disappoint! So happy to catch up with her after almost 4 years. I know, I should get out more! They have a great opportunity to select from 50% of wine bottles so Michelle and I selected a Franciscan CabSav from San Miguel, Ca just south of Napa near the Paso Robles area. Just an EXCELLENT choice we concluded, you will NOT be disappointed with this selection with hints of black cherry, carmel and coconut. We settled into one of their many rooms and selected a table where we could order from their menu with a nice selection of appetizers, salads, hand helds and small bites. We shared the Crab Rangoon app & each had the Harvest Salad. All together is was an excellent combination. It was a warm pre-spring evening and just a perfect finish for memorable outing. Kudos to Erin and her support team for making our visit an experience to remember.

I've been four times. The best burger I've tried yet is the Butcher's Burger. If you're looking for a burger with a smoky flavor, uplifted by the richness of the pork belly and seared onions... I haven't found better yet in the city. CB&BG is home to the best side dish in the city so far. Fried Okra. A dish I am beyond familiar, but rather familial with being from Oklahoma. I've had it countless times. I have not only never seen it prepared like this, but I have never had better. Forget the traditional fried okra chips or medallions you're used to. They tempura fry the whole dang thing. Get yourself some ranch and enjoy. The indoor atmospere is clean, sleek, and fun whenever they have live sports on TV or live bands in house. Kinda disappointed, I didn't think it was the happiest d of an order.

It was a bit chilly so we sat inside even though the outside patio was heated. It was a good choice because it was a little breezy. We shared the okra as an appetizer, it was as good as I remembered! They had a special which we both decided was good, surf & turf with NY strip and lobster tail. I also brought a bottle of Freixnet Cordon Negra which was so good! Waitress just didn't follow up. My water sat unrefilled for a long time. Fried okra didn't taste like okra - but that suited a few of the party. But a few of us expected okra flavor only to be disappointed. Temp on the fried green tomatoes should have been warmer but overall it was very tasty. Our appetizer empty plates sat for a while - we even stacked them so it was clear they should be cleared. Ordered the salmon, which was good, but so did my mom. We ordered different temps and they couldn't tell which was which. Wife ordered a salad and for the price, there was barely anything there. Mac and cheese is still the star. Oysters were decent - I expected larger. The half chicken was a generous portion - nice crispy outside but a bit dry inside. I wouldn't order it (I almost did, but my one of our party did). One of our party ordered a stuffed leeks and it was so salty it was inedible. They did fix it and admitted it should have never left the kitchen. By the time the replacement came out it was after 6:05 (and they had to leave at 6:15). So they didn't get to eat their celebratory meal with the rest of us. Not the memory you want for a meal. Desserts were good. Tort was dense - honestly not sure if that's normal. Crème brûlée was very good. For a $400+ experience and our history with Pump House, I expected more.
