Especially after a rough year for business being closed because of the pandemic, the owner was very kind. This is a beer and shot kinda place and town, it's a very clean bar, friendly staff and people, beautiful water view. They serve food here, drinks are an awesome price, they always have entertainment or something cool going on at the bar on the weekends. A definitely must go to place , if you're ever in town. I went with an open mind. I grew up eating Blarney's pizza. It was the go-to place after every game and for every class reunion. I noticed little had changed decor wise with Slide Inn's take over, a few big screen tv's and a few sports posters and that was it. Sadly the same 40+ yr old booths with broke springs and wooden chairs remained. Maybe a tv or two less and new seating would have helped. At any rate, myself and my party (my hub and a couple who were friends of ours) were greeted promptly and seated. It was mid afternoon so it was pretty slow. We of course ordered the famous pizza. My friends were originally from Chilli and were excited to enjoy a treat they had missed. We were sorely disappointed. The pizza, when it arrived, was rather limp, and looked like it could have benefitted from a few more minutes in the oven. The crust was not crisp as it used to be, and it tasted as if someone had gone too heavy with the salt. mentioned this to our server who tossed her head, rolled her eyes and offered half heartedly to put it back in the oven to "cook it a little more for ya" Wow don't out yourself out or anything. We finished our drinks and took the rest of our food with us. Since I knew the new owner I approached her to let her know of our experience. She didn't seem like she was concerned and indicated no one else had complained so it must be my problem. So, looks like I will continue to mourn and miss Blarney's pizza.
