The first couple of times I went to check out, I got this feeling that I was unwelcome. It was the same guy at the counter both times, and he was just silent as I stood there. I came back when I saw them listed as carrying Dale's Pale, and have never seen that employee again. Now, in the larger location, the staff is all friendly as can be. Recently, they spent a long time picking through their distributor's catalog to find a bottle of Root for me. They ordered it with no money up front, and it came in only a few days. I was definitely pleased with the experience. They have a large selection of craft beers. The last time I was in there, they no longer had Dale's Pale. It was rather heartbreaking for me, and am hoping that it just happened to be out of stock. Still, they have a great selection of other beers. They have a ton of wine to choose from, and a large selection of hard liquor. It's a huge, clean store with friendly staff. They also cleaned up the parking lot recently, fixing the rough spots. The guy added that you also get a 10% discount on single prices if you buy four, and there prices were fair to begin with IMO. Don't fooled by the cooler cases and be sure to step into the beer cave to see the full selection! Super nice, super helpful, good prices, great selection--not much to say about the decor! I think I will be back in West Hartford, and when I do, this will be my shop.

Oddly enough, I've even had the town of Wolcott deny some of my bottle returns at their redemption center. Reason being the bottles were from Germany and the writing on my bottles weren't in "American". That was my plan, you see. To get bottles from The European Union and bankrupt America five cents at a time. Crazy Bruce's has never given any such issue so they get my business from time to time. They run excellent specials on Seasonal beer items that have just past the season. They also have a really good selection of local beers from the area. There specials and customer service make it worth the 15-20 minute drive for me.

He always picks the most expensive thing out of the cooler and hands it to me, then grabs another and loads my arms up and acts offended if I put them back and pick something else. It's either an awkward battle or you just go with it. I spent $49 on two 4 packs of IPAs and they are only ok. Of course you don't know what you're spending until they ring you up. I hope he reads this and realizes he lost a very loyal customer. He has done this multiple times, but this was the last. Today in particular I stopped to pick up a bottle of wine for a friend I was visiting and knowing how fussy she is about her wine I didn't want to take chances and pick one myself. So, I relied on the knowledgeable staff there to help me find one that was more palatable for her and another that would pair well with our dinner. Oh! They were so helpful. They do a great job offering singles, too, so you can try lots of different types. And beer actually isn't the majority of their foot space, so I have to imagine their wine selection is great, too. This is now my go-to spot. I'm very excited to explore my beer horizons here.
