I love this little gym. Theres nothing fancy about this place, really. But it is right by my work…read moreso I can walk over and get a quick workout on my lunch. Its never really busy around lunch time and I can always find an elliptical, treadmill, or stairmaster to work on. They have tons of free weights as well as machines with weights in a small room to the side. They also have a sauna there. The locker rooms have lockers available for daily use or I think you can rent one out on a monthly basis or something like that (don't quote me on this!). Another great perk here is that they have free wifi! So you can stream your music without going over on your data (for those of us who don't have those plans that exclude music from our data usage). The staff here is friendly. Once they see you enough, they always say hi. I always see them cleaning the machines too and sweeping. Some things to remember: *Bring your ID card as they have 100% ID check. Once you register, you have to scan each time you come in. *Bring a small towel to wipe your sweat. *Wipe the machines down after you use it with the provided paper towels and cleaner. *Bring your headphones. Although they play music, theres just so much machines running, weights clanging together, and just movement in general, it is kind of hard to hear the music well.

The post office is tucked into a plantation village on Kunia Road, just look for the blinking light. Why is this me favorite post office? The absence of a line helps. I could probably drive here in less time that it takes to stand in line at a few of the closer locations. The mix of people is another plus. Because it is all outdoors, and set up on a lanai, the customers have a tendency to stay long enough to talk story. Nice to have a slow moment during a day. It is also the Postal clerk, who is as friendly as her clientele, and is happy to chat when she has a moment, but is all business and efficiency when she needs to get through the occasional line. So the next time you are grumbling about the lines at the post office in Wahiawa or Mililani, take a detour down Kunia Road. Take in the view of the mountain, breathe in the fresh air, and slow your pace in a more pleasant way.

17 December 2020 I…read morehad some postcards in my car for a few days that needed postage. They are going International so I knew it would take more than the regular domestic rate stamps. However, I did not know how much more so I needed to visit a postal service provider to get the stamps weighed. I chose to patronize USPS over the others. On my way home I search for the nearest USPS location because I knew the one nearest my house would be closed since they have very limited hours. The Kunia branch was the nearest location and most convenient, it was right off the main road so I did not have to go far out of my way. It seemed simple enough so I did not even put it in my GPS. Once I turn off the main road, I saw a few businesses but did not immediately see the post office. Luckily, I noticed a sign pointing towards its direction. The sign had the USPS logo and a directional arrow. The arrows direction was hard to make out because it was very faded but, it did help. I pulled up and it was a small trailer. The trailer is well marked and is ample parking available. I presume they don't usually have an influx of customers because the window was closed with directions to ring the bell for service. Within a 30 seconds of me ringing the bell, there was a postal service employee at the window. That was JO (her name was on her name tag). I told her what I needed, handed her my cards, and she informed me of the total cost. While she was placing the postage on the card, I informed her that I would get some change from my car. When I returned to the window she was very esthetic for the coins because as she stated, she needed coins. I don't have any issues with this location. The postal clerk was pleasant and the whole process took me less than 5 minutes. I will definitely go back for fast service away from the bigger, busier post offices.

I had lucked out and grabbed the last stall in the front. I guess you could find street parking but I just couldn't believe there were maybe 30 stalls for a building that runs the Drivers Licensing Center and Satellite City Hall. I just went in to pay my registration but overhearing the front clerk, they do accept walk-ins for all other services but yesterday they were quoting a 2-3hour wait. So please, if you're doing any type of Tax payments, or DL renewal, make an appointment! If you're just running in to pay your car reg. they do have a Express line, and they will point you into the direction. The Clerk/Cashier was extremely friendly and very helpful. I was there for maybe 10mins at most. I normally utilize the DMV Kiosk but for some reason my safety check from last year wasn't showing in the system so that's the reason for my visit. They do not accept cash but they do tack on a fee for credit cards, if you use check you don't have to pay the fee so bring your checkbook if you still have them :)

I went FOUR times trying to get a duplicate title for my friend who moved off-island. Every time I brought what they told me to bring--and every time they told me it was wrong. Make it make sense. One guy straight up said my name wasn't on the POA while I was looking at it in bold print. I asked him a separate question for myself and he took my docs and voided them for no reason. I went back, got helped by a grumpy Filipina manang who rattled off instructions like she was an auctioneer. Zero effort to be helpful. Literally told me, "yes you have the right documents but we don't process them at this counter so u need to sit and wait an hour over there to be helped." She didn't blink at all. Finally get helped after 2 hours only to be told I actually don't have the correct documents. FIVE HOURS wasted that day alone. I gave up and went to Kapolei. Whole different vibe--like I stepped into a Disney DMV. Staff smiled, spoke like actual humans, told me exactly what I needed, and even said "have a nice day." I was in and out in under 5 minutes. Bottom line: If you want to start your day mad, go to Wahiawa. If you want to be treated like a person, go to Kapolei. I've never seen such a wild difference in customer service in my life.

I feel like Waipahu Civic Center has a smooth comfortable, and extremely safe site to handle people throughout the day. They also provide Flu Shots and TB testing as well. Temperature check's were done prior to check-in, short application to be completed, waiting area has seats socially distanced. When your number is called, you sit with a nurse who administers the shot, then another waiting area as you are held for 15 minutes should a patient have allergic reactions needing medical attention. You'll need a staffs assistance if you need to use the restroom as all the men's and woman's restrooms are locked. While all cities, states and counties everywhere are experiencing a shortage of vaccine, it's best to make your appointment once you have the opportunity.
