Shopped around for bikes for the kids (12 yrs and 10 yrs old) and after years of cheaper bikes while they grew we decided to upgrade to nicer bikes that should last them. Previously before kids I was an semi serious MTB but as in everything in life, time sure has an impact on bicycle technology. Trek now has acquired many other brands and Wheel and Sprocket is the area's largest distributors of bikes in terms of volume and number of stores. Bike shortages during the Covid19 crisis so finding a bike to fit our needs let alone having lots of options wasn't in the cards so coming here was a good decision. Worked with Lee who greeted us at the door as they were limiting the number of customers. Lee asked us qualifying questions and price range and showed us several options and then up sold us on several other options. Sized our kids making sure they fit the bikes properly and explained the sitting styles from bike to bike. We settled on the Trek 820 and Trek Marlin 5 for the oldest who shouldn't outgrow it. The later with Shimano Tourney TY300 components still entry level but much better than bikes at Target or Walmart. Aluminum frames and disc brakes. As in most bike stores, bring it back within a year for a minor tune up as cables stretches after use. Final set up and adjustments and we walked out with two new bikes. Lots of options to add on should you need to upgrade parts from Thule car carriers to suspension forks to cranks to clothing. Tune up or repair shop should you need that as well. My grandson's bike's brakes were not working properly. (We're did not buy the bike there.) I stopped in with the bike and Matt was with a customer. He said he'd be with me in a minute and was. He checked the bike over fixing the brakes and explaining why he was doing what he was doing. About 30 minutes later everything was in working order and I was on my way out. I cannot say enough about the service and the time he took for me to understand what he was doing. I know where I'll be getting the next bike. read more

Good friendly service and they seemed to have a better selection of bikes. The bike I wanted was in Appleton and they had it transferred to their store, which saved me a 3 hour drive. There is also a nice extra wide bike path right in front of the store which is perfect for test drives before you make a purchase. read more

I brought my bike in to repair a rear flat tire. They "repaired" it and the next day or so I took it out for a ride. The next time I took it out a short while later, I found the tire completely flat again. When I took it in again to get fixed the second time, they found a tiny 2 mm metal shaving which almost certainly produced the flat tire and almost certainly was missed the first time around. They did not stand by their work. They did not move an inch in my direction to make it right. Instead, they charged the full $29 to fix my tire a second time (10+ for the tube, 18+ for the labor which took about 10 minutes). Unimpressed with the quality of their mechanical and customer service. read more

I brought my bike to them a few years ago I was carrying the frame and the wheels that had quick release handles. As I walked in a drone asked me why I had taken the bike apart. I had brought it in my car so I had to take it off. I ignored the idiot and asked a mechanic if they could tune up my bike. They called me a couple of days later to come pick up my bike. When I got there the mechanic explained they had to hammer in one the bushings and the frame cracked. The bushing was over two inches it had no business being used the bushings that were on the axle were what were supposed to be used. I was furious but I couldn't take my bike unless I paid for the "repairs" . I found a guy who welded the crack for me. I can't describe how incompetent this company is. read more

They not only helped explain the ebike but told me what to look for then guided me toward a path with varied terrain for a test ride. Trent is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, and Cam prevented me from making a mistake when it came to arch supports for my cycling shoes - definitely appreciated, and a reminder of the importance of listening to people that have taken the time to learn about the products they sell. read more

I stopped by to pick up some parts to get me started on my spring tune ups and was pleasantly surprised to see how careful they were with all the COVID-19 precautions. They had a sign at the door for customers, they had markings on the floor for safe distancing, they had gloves for customers, bags for customers to put their purchases in. The employees wore gloves and made sure that everything was wiped down after things were touched. The service was excellent, the staff were on point and knowledgeable. Matt and Trent are great to guys. They both look out for me when I make a purchase and sell me what I need to be a better cyclist. They are always friendly and take the time to speak to me at some point in my visits even if they are not assisting. There are even times that I stop by the shop even if I don't intend on buying anything just speak to them and catch up on what's current. The Delafield Wheel and Sprocket is a great local bike store. The staff is friendly, competent, and helpful -- they give you the time you need. The service guys are accessible, take time to listen, and do nice work. The store is kept up to date, parts and tools are usually in stock, and most things are reasonably priced. I stop by for advice, equipment, cycling clothes, and they almost always have what I want. When I needed a special tool, and needed it ASAP, they offered to lend me theirs to get me going (and ended up selling me theirs at cost.) They are located right on the Lake Country Trail, and only a couple miles north of Lapham Peak. Give them a try! read more

I have advanced arthritis in my right hand and recently had my thumb joint removed because of it. I hadn't been able to ride a bike in 2 years because I haven't been able to shift and breaking was very hard as well. In the off-chance that there might be a fix out there that would make it possible for me to ride again, we took my bike to Wheel and Sprocket in Delafield. I really like this location of Wheel & Sprocket having been to several of their stores over the years. The staff members were all very helpful and friendly and gladly helped me figure out what type of bike I wanted and even got me riding on a couple of them. The store's location is nice for testing out mountain bikes, as the roads and area behind the shop have a few hills and grassy areas to test out bikes. The store has has a some recent updates and renovations lately which put in a new biking fitting system and new bike display areas. read more

The best part is if he doesn't have the answer to your question, he makes it a priority to find out the correct answer. His follow through is perfect. Wheel and Sprocket is one of the leading sellers of TREK bikes in the country. They have a good supply, and best of all, if they don't have the bike you think you want, they go online and either find it at one of their other stores and gets it into the Delafield store, quickly, or goes on line and orders one from TREK. I have to update my earlier rating on Delafield store's service. My bike ended up spending 2 months of the summer season in their shop. The first repair was my fault for crashing the bike - but it took more than month of calling and follow-up to get it done. The second time it was related to the bike setup on their part, and I again lost the bike for another month - couldn't get a part, waiting on Trek, waiting on shipping, haven't heard back...and I always had to call, felt like I was way back on the priority list. So, when I needed some work on my other bike I drove instead to the Hales Corners location - MUCH better service response there by Bill and the team. So, easy solution - although I bought 5 bikes from Delafield, I'll be getting them all serviced in Hales Corners. read more
