As part of the Tippecanoe Arts Federation's goal to bring public art to the greater Lafayette metro area, a Mural Art Initiative brought artists to visit the towns in the surrounding counties. In 2017, artist Cameron Moberg (Camer1) was selected to create a mural for the town of Fowler.
If you drive along US 52, there are grain elevators on the west side of the highway along the railroad tracks. With such an obvious feature that was basically a vertical blank slate, Moberg used equipment to lift him into place to paint a giant shaft of wheat on the side of the silos near 6th Street.
Facing south, the mural catches the full sun each day and is visible for all northbound travelers to see. This was one of two murals Moberg has done in Fowler. He has also done murals in Lafayette and Rensselaer.
