Really Love this place - dropped by on a rainy cold day and it was perfect. Warm bright atmosphere - quiet but not skyward. Lunch menu had good choice - soup for me, my daughter went for the soft shell crab burger. The food did not take long - pleasant view out over the water. The soup was good - the burger was so good I could not keep my daughter from eating it as I was taking a photo. Coffee was Campo's and the barista did it justice. It's a charming bright and nicely fitted cafe here with superb and relaxing views of the estuary and ocean beyond. Such a lovely spot to spend some time, inside or outside. We chose some excellent blueberry macaroons for a snack. They had lovely texture and flavour. Our coffees by three were excellent. The best we've had from up and down the north coast. Overpriced and a confused dinner menu. Slow service - trying to hard to cater to the fine dining market and lets down a first rate location when a simpler more casual contemporary approach to food would see this place blossom. What a fantastic discovery! So heard the place did good coffee and came in around 10 to grab one. Coffee was great but noticed that there was a serious looking chef in the kitchen doing serious high level prep. Glanced at the menu and could see these guys are making a serious effort to showcase local produce in an unpretentious, classy way. Booked for lunch and it was bang on the money with great service and spectacular food. Started with a dozen local oysters, half natural and half mignonette. They were salty fresh and the mignonette perfectly balanced. We both had the the special of the day, local caught whole leather jacket in herb, caper butter on a green pea sauce and Tuscan tomato and caperberry salad. Magnificent. Absolutely terrific flavours and well presented with attentive and knowledgeable service team in the front of house. We will be back. read more

Excellent meals, competent and friendly staff, good range of options, both food and drinks. Delightful spot, by the Nambucca river and very near the beach, with good outdoor seating on the beautiful day we were there, although there's plenty of indoor space if preferred.
