Its always a great crowd that come here however, karaoke is always hilarious and its always packed on a weekend. As far as bars go in Morecambe this is one of the better ones that we always come back to for a lively end of the night! But this pub is busy for a reason. they do good, cheap, simple pub grub and they do it well. Whether you fancy a roast of just a butty and chips this pub never disappoints. True, you won't get owt fancy but sometimes that's ok. The roast is ok and there is plenty of it. We sat at a high-top table near the bar. The food was good. We had cider, shared a meat/cheese plate, had lattes and Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. We enjoyed it. However, the food was not my biggest impression. What made the experience so enjoyable was the staff, ambiance and live entertainment. Our server was very friendly, but even better, the super nice manager stopped by our table to chat and to make sure that everything was good. He was so welcoming that it immediately made me like the pub. The ambiance is warm and cozy. If we lived nearby, this would be our local place. It felt comfortable. We listened to a senior citizen Dixieland Jazz band while we ate. They were fantastic and just seemed to be having so much fun performing, that their joy was infectious. Our lunch at The Robert Gillow made me happy and I walked out with the "warm fuzzies".

That I could have a Guinness or John Smiths as they were just as good. (They are not) So a pint of Guinness it was. At bloody London prices! Just under a tenner for two pints. In a not very clean, mostly empty former train station. They do offer food, but given the state of the place and previous reviews I decided to nope out of that. It's a Greene King pub whose food I've experienced before. It's tastes frozen & reheated by microwave. Shame as this place could be a great gastropub given the right management.
