The teacher is great, with decades of experience, is great. The playground is good quality and nice. They have a lot of toys for the kids during play time. I pulled our son out of a local Montessori Preschool last year because I'm a stay at home mom and what the Montessori teaches turns out is what he gets at home. It's essentially an over priced yet clean & organized day care. They sell you on the "small groups" but every day they pull the groups together into one huge group then have issues keeping their attention so the kids are constantly reprimanded for not being still enough. After 5 months of 4 half days a week in that school he only learned what I was teaching him at home in terms of colors, shapes, numbers and alphabet. I wanted him in preschool to get a start on those types of things for school and this is what Las Familias does! It's parent involved so I get to help out 2 days a month in class, plus they do a filed trip once a month somewhere local, like a fire house, apple orchards, pumpkin patch, library, etc. Since it's parent involved the low tuition can't be beat but you will make up some of the cost with donations along the way, very doable. I think we hit the jackpot finding this school. We have two sons, our oldest didn't really go to preschool (it was limited), our youngest is far ahead of where his brother was at this time academically. He'll be starting K in the fall and already knows how to write anything you give him. He draws constantly. He does homework willingly without push back. He sings a song of the alphabet sounds not simply the alphabet. The typical day for the 3-5 age class looks like this, parents come in for a few minutes to help their child do a small worksheet or read a book then they leave. Ms. Robin has the kids on the carpet and they start a story, not just a story though, everyday has it's own letter of the alphabet, the kids typically get a sticker with the letter of the day, then all her stories have a focus around the letter, she sounds out the letter sounds while shes reading each book, she calls out each child's name that has the letter in their name then once that is over she has not usually one but typically two projects the kids work on all focused around the letter of the day. So if the letter was S the kids might be gluing sea shells to inside a big S or picture of a Shell, F feathers, G glitter, D dots and so forth. She always has a bag stocked with things related to that day so the kids can choose a book or item from the bag and she's ready to go with the letter of the day. The story time is about 45 mins. which at first I thought was too long, but she's so interactive, the kids do great. From there they go to the projects then playtime outside. Once they come in from playtime they get their snacks, 2-3 kids do a share they brought from home and then it's time to leave at 12:30. The kids are cutting, gluing, painting, drawing with makers and crayons, & writing every day. The kids get homework, they get to put stickers on all their classwork AND homework, and you know that part where I said she's organized? She keeps a journal log of the kids home work and makes notes if they do extra credit on the back, etc. Now I'm sure this is not required and she's taking the time because she truly cares about the success of your child. She hand writes practice pages when they are learning new letters that they can trace, you know the ones you typically see photocopied from a book, yes they have those too, but I'm talking about her taking time to hand write for all the students. This school also cares about the families an awful lot. Every holiday is done with extreme care. The kids do numerous personal special projects for the family, learn songs, and families come in for special events like their Christmas performance with Santa and grandparents day for example, each of them are very special. The school really is like a big family, my son enjoys going, and I'm happy to see him learning. Ms.Danielle teaches the younger class and is the director of the school. She's very accommodating, helpful and thoughtful. There is always a handful of helpers & or parents around that make it a good environment. I highly recommend this school and feel blessed to have our son there.

I came in for a tour back in February and we still were not finalizing our move. She made time to meet with me and spent over 30 minutes answering all of my questions and concerns. What I appreciated is that she answered every single one patiently and how *genuinely* nice she was. I could see she was willing to work alongside me and my daughter. The place was clean, spacious and the outdoor portion was nice for the children to play at. I do not think we should always rely on the number of reviews or that one negative review; I think we should give a chance, follow our own instincts and intuition. I relocated from the Bay Area to Riverside during my PPL training due to an Air Force PCS to March…read moreARB. I chose this school for convenience and because they advertised Piper Archers, which I had been flying, but upon arrival I was told they had sold them, so I transitioned to their Cessnas. After about 15 to 20 hours, I was becoming comfortable in the new aircraft. During a short field landing, I applied firm braking as part of the maneuver. On a hot day, the left main tire failed. I took responsibility and agreed to cover the cost of the tire replacement. I was then charged $300, while a document at their front desk clearly listed Tire and Labor as $222. When I raised the discrepancy, I was told over the phone the difference would be refunded. About a week later, I received an email stating the refund would not be issued and that the form had been rectified to match the higher price. Because of this incident, I was told I was not a good fit for the school and was advised to train elsewhere. Flight training is already a significant financial commitment, and situations like this make cost transparency even more important. The issue here is not the tire, it is the inconsistent pricing and reversal after acknowledging the discrepancy. Being shown one price and charged another, then having it changed after the fact, is not a good standard for a training environment. I would strongly recommend prospective students get all pricing and policies clearly in writing before committing, or consider training elsewhere.
