What went well? EVERYTHING! Friends of mine have been raving about the various Westville locations in New York City but as a general rule, we don't eat out that frequently but yesterday, after a stressful visir to my internist, we decided to treat ourselves to what turned out to be a fabulous lunch at the Westville location on the upper west side. Having never been to ond of their restaurants, I needed some guidance and fortunately, Kara, was our server and not only explained the menu and made wonderful suggestions but also engaged in a fascinating discussion with my wife about how the creators of these restaurants have focused on healthy options for hungry customers. Based on Kara's recommendations, I ordered the Market Plate with three selections that were delicious. My wife had the goal cheese salad that she loved. Fortunately they recently opened a new location on the upper east side, which is closer to our apartment, so we'll be returning soon!

I LOVE Westville! Came tonight for the loaded potato soup which was outstanding! Creamy, hot, cheesy perfection. As for my main I had the falafel burger. It was alright except the bun was too soggy to eat, was falling apart. But I like the slaw on the sandwich. And the salad on the side is always so simple but so good! The drink was strong and a great happy hour deal. Thanks Westville!

Chicken Tenders

I hate to write bad reviews but after several attempts to contact the restaurant and not being able to - I feel posting here is what I need to do. I came in to restaurant on 3/30 and ordered tenders and hotdogs/fries to take out. When I got home, the tenders were burnt and too hard to eat. It's a little too far to go back to restaurant. So I look on receipt to contact the restaurant. There's no telephone number to call but it says you can leave feedback at lovesfeedback.com/westville. I tried several times but got message that there is a problem with site so unable to leave feedback. So I go to restaurant's website and find a telephone # and called restaurant 2x. Both times - after waiting to be connected to someone for about 10 -15 minutes each, a message comes on that there is an error and then the call drops. I go back to the website - There is no option listed to contact restaurant. I know mistakes happen but it's just frustrating - not to be able to reach anyone except to go back to restaurant. Not good customer service. (And I left a tip on the order that I picked up).

Ordered Uber eats. It was great quality and i was impressed. I wanted the greek salad with a kale base which I loved and I'm glad they were able to make the change. The bread with the goat cheese that came with the salad was also great. Great ratios of everything. I loved the bottled water they sell.

Oof westville - we've been to your other spots and never had a bad time like this. We came in on a week night, no reservation, there were plenty of tables available. We were sat immediately and ordered within 5 minutes of sitting down, the ambiance was good. The chairs are extremely uncomfortable, just that alone would deter me from coming back. We then waited, and I emphasize, 48 minutes until we were able to flag down anyone to ask where our food was. We got a burger and the grilled chicken market item. Overall it took around ~55 minutes for our food to come out. The staff told us they had gotten slammed with delivery orders and attempted to remedy it with a cookie. Unfortunately we came to westville for a healthy dinner, so we gave the cookie away. -3 stars for the extremely long wait, lack of service and uncomfortable chairs Very disappointed with westville on the UWS, would recommend you lower your expectations if you've been to others in the city.

Garlic Parmesan pull apart bread was awesome, buttery and fresh. My steak was cooked just right along with fresh frites. My date ordered the fried chicken Caesar salad and it was a hefty serving, good enough for two to split. We visited with a party of 7 at 9pm on a Friday which just so happened to be their first night doing a burlesque show. What a fun watch! I was, however, wondering the whole time if the people outside could see. Is that allowed?? Even though we did have a resy, it still took a hot minute to get our table (whole party does have to be present before you're seated, but even then it took a while). I will say it seems like the staff is overstretched. Service was slow and so by the time we got most of our food, it was unfortunately a little too cool. Additionally, one member of my party ordered their vodka pasta, which besides being almost flavorless and cold, there was also a random potato in there (?). I wasn't too impressed with their garlic & parm bread, there could've been more garlic and it would have benefitted from them cutting it in half and adding more butter in the middle. The honey butter was good though, but that's because they plop it on top so you can control how much or how little you'd like. I do think they have a pretty decent Caesar salad. The dressing didn't scream homemade (which I didn't like) but it was overall a respectable offering. The steak frites was perfectly cooked to medium rare for me and the fries were delicious and plentiful (I didn't finish them). Like I mentioned earlier, because everything took so long to come out, it was a little cooler than I would've preferred, but I was happy with my choice. I would've loved to try their chocolate cake, but I was pretty full and the speed of service had left a bad taste in my mouth. I wouldn't completely disqualify this place, but I would recommend trying to find a less busier time to visit.

The food and drinks were great!!! This is a spot you might find in Brooklyn but SURPRISE!!! Guess what? I TOOK PICTURES!! To start, we ordered the mango mojito and a hibiscus drink. Both were nice. We asked for more sugar cane because we wanted it! (So good) HOWEVER, skip both and order the rum punch!! BABYYYYYYY it was great!!! We ended up ordering it and my cousin had TWO. Trust me, order the Rum Punch. The food was delicious! Be sure to ask for the homemade hot sauce. It is FIRE!! The food: the salt fish and ackee spring rolls were good. We ordered chicken bites and they were delicious with and without the sauce!! It was "child certified" by our little cousin. We ordered fries and asked for the tamarind / ketchup. Loved it! The Trini corn soup was devoured with barely any evidence soup was in the bowl! The jerk chicken comes out on its own as an entree. The sides are al a cart. It did not need sides as the portion was nice! The crab fried rice was delicious as was the curry vegetable fried rice. The beef lo mein was delicious. The beef was tender and not too spicy . Because it was going so well, we ordered cake: a carrot slice, and a coconut slice. The carrot cake we like better than the coconut cake. Both had icing we all loved. The carrot cake was a little different from any I have had, but it was good. The coconut cake was cold and I suspect it was the reason it was on the dry side. It had flavor just not as moist as we would expect. So listen, this is a two restaurant experience. In the morning there is a different menu. We came after 5pm. This review is for the after five "set." I will attach a menu pic. Are we coming back? Yes we will!! Friendly staff that made sure we were happy and had what we needed. Time for a stomach reset!…read more This restaurant is not for those who are sensitive to flavor and spice. If salt and pepper are the only two spices you can handle, this is not the restaurant, rather not the cuisine, for you. Thai food is based on a multitude of factors. Colors, variety, and spice. What I got here reflects all of that, even if my pictures show a large shade of brown. My first item is the Kao Soi Ped, a coconut curry noodle soup with duck and shallots. I was incredibly afraid to eat the whole thing because coconut curry is a natural laxative. However, the dry noodles and crispy (and rather tasty) duck probably saved me from potential embarrassment. The dish evolved from a chow mein into almost like a duck ramen, which actually made it fun to eat despite the insane flavor bomb it packed. My go-to at any Thai restaurant is a Drunken Noodle, better known as a Pad Kee Mao. It carries quite a punch to the mouth in flavor. There is also plenty of variance on the plate with ample noodles and chicken. The amount of vegetables to protein to noodle is appropriately proportionate to each other. Not one piece of this dish is out of place. The spice also countered the richness of the curry and to my surprise, I finished the whole thing. I never go to a Thai restaurant without ordering a Thai Iced Tea, and this one does it as well as one can make it. My advice is to order it and save it for later, when the heat and flavors need some temperance from taking over your stomach, throat, and later, perhaps your bowels. For Upper West Side standards, this is par for the course in terms of price and value. It is also close by the 1 train when it comes to convenience, but keep in mind the kitchen closes for a bit as the restaurant shifts from lunch mode to dinner mode. Good thing the restaurant is not far from a few distractions to keep you entertained if you want to dine here but do not live in the neighborhood. Or you could just plan your trip accordingly like any normal person and stop in after 4:30 pm if you want to come here for dinner. Enjoy the experience.

No one else was there but after I ordered and started eating the place began filling up. They have a big menu and a lunch specials menu which is what I chose from. I asked my server for his suggestion. He inquired how hungry I was and I said very . He suggested the Pad Kee Mao and reminded me it's spicy. I said bring on the heat. I also go the chicken wings which was one of the choices that comes with the entree. My food didn't take very long and arrived piping hot. The chicken wings were fried nicely, could have used a bit more salt but were still very good. My noodles however- FANTASTIC !!! Chewy consistentcy, fresh veggies , well seasoned and sauced and yes super spicy. Happy tummy, I cleaned my plate . I really enjoyed my meal and already plan on returning. The restaurant is clean and has a beautiful modern decor. Service is quick, attentive and friendly. *I have to mention that while there is a bathroom it is located at the back and you have to climb 2 single steps ( on step at 2 different points of elevation on the floor ) This might pose a difficulty to some as it's not fully accessible.

Showed up on a gorgeous Sunday with friends. Inside was empty (and hot), but we saw a table outside wrapping up. Spoke to the host about sitting there and he said sure. We sat at the bar to have a drink while we waited. He returned a few minutes later to tell us her informed by the older woman working there (not Nina based on pics from their website) we couldn't sit outside if we're just drinking. We explained we wanted to eat, but for now while waiting we'd have drinks. And then we sat there. Waiting. 15 minutes went by and we finally were able to order drinks waiting for the table to be cleaned. We saw a party of 5 enter and speak to the woman about having our table. We said to the man we're waiting on that table and he said yes its yours no need to worry. Next thing we know the woman sat the other party at the table we waited 22 minutes for. We pointed this out to the man. He was silent and didn't know what to say. I got up and went outside to the woman and explained we'd been waiting 22 minutes for that table and she needed to move them and explain they were sat in error. At first I could see she realized her mistake, then she said she would get her manager, then she said they actually were here before us. I said no they were not, we've been here all this time and they just arrived. She kept saying they were here first but they were not. I walked away from her done with this stupid conversation. We told them we were leaving and the man said "sorry". Nina - if you read this you need to train your staff to do better.
