I am going to be very honest about my experience. When I first presented my case to them back in…read more2023, I was told that I had a very good case, that I would most likely win, and that I could walk away with a really good amount of money. Based on what I was being told, I trusted them and believed that they were going to fight for me. As the case continued, there were times when I felt like I was being kept in the dark and had no idea what was going on with my own case. This went on until 2026. I eventually had to go through a deposition, where I was questioned and honestly felt like I was being treated like a criminal. After everything I had gone through for almost three years, I thought it was finally coming to an end. I was told there was an offer of $90,000, which eventually went up to $100,000. At first, I thought, "Okay, nice! At least after everything I went through, this is finally over." Then everything changed. Mr. Rios explained that the doctors who treated me had to be paid, along with the attorneys who worked on my case, filing costs, court paperwork, court fees, and other expenses. After everything was deducted, I was told I would only be taking home around $30,000. That was extremely upsetting to hear. How does a $100,000 settlement turn into approximately $30,000 for me? I understand that attorneys have fees and that medical bills and other expenses have to be paid, but I was not expecting such a large portion of the settlement to be taken out. I kept asking myself: Why aren't the people who were at fault responsible for covering more of these expenses? I felt like I had been promised one thing in the beginning, only to find out something completely different at the end. I was also told that if I decided to take the case to trial, the attorney's percentage would increase and there could be additional expenses, including paying doctors for their time to appear in court and testify. After almost three years of dealing with this case, being kept in the dark at times, going through questioning, and dealing with all the stress that came with it, I feel extremely disappointed. I trusted what I was told in the beginning, and I never expected that a $100,000 settlement could leave me with only around $30,000. I feel like I lost both trust and money throughout this process. I will never contract with this place again. I just wish everything regarding the attorney fees, medical expenses, court costs, and what I could realistically expect to receive had been explained clearly to me from the very beginning.
