Had an average experience the first couple times with senior dog who needs medication twice an day.Only ever met lady. We went away for 7 days. text that I was on way for pickup. At pickup I thought they were being extra accommodating to fetching him, as a guy who I've never seen the past 2 times carried dog and dog bed to car when they never carried my senior dog in and out of car.. nevermind fully carried 75 steps from kennel enclosure to parking lot area.
when we arrived home his nose was scratched up, legs scratched up and he couldn't use his legs whatsoever. His legs were all curled in as if he was bed bound all week.
when I text lady she said he was walking 7am this morning and ate his food and she gave medication. the medication looked mostly untouched however I have not fully counted out pills
We bought a help me up harness and nursed him all week he recovered quite a bit but not enough. we had to put him down yesterday as we cannot physically take him outside 3 times a day and know he was in pain.
I wouldn't recommend leaving a dog that needs pills or a senior dog here. I understand a senior dog can deteriorate quickly but would have appreciated honesty of his condition or if he slipped on ice or something. Instead of asking a man to come over to smuggle him to back of car to not make a scene while collecting payment from me and other dog owners picking up. The lack of communication left us to question if it was lack of medication or physical injury or just senior deterioration. So we were unable to know if we made the right decision in putting him down.
I'm devastated. Do not make the mistake of leaving senior dog/ medication dog here. They cannot handle it and are not honest. read more
