If I could rate 0 stars, I would. The reception staff is beyond rude and is misinformed. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone.

I've been very happy about my experiences with Dr. Romano and his team. I first saw him when his…read morepractice was part of Hinsdale Orthopaedics - Oak Park. He's since split away and gone out on his own. My first experiences with this practice date back to when it was Trinity Orthopaedics. Dr. Sheehan was an exceptional doctor and Dr. Romano keeps to that tradition. He is thorough with his exams and spends a lot of time interacting with patients and understanding their concerns. I like that he seems to focus more on rehabilitation than surgical intervention, instead favoring physical therapy, sports medicine, and other non-invasive approaches. At the same time, he's not going to ignore the need for surgery when it will get the job done. I trust Dr. Romano to take care of me and do a do a good job. He's an all-around excellent surgeon. One thing that stands out about Dr. Romano is his unique diagnostic approach. He focuses on root causes. He explained to me about one patient who came in wanting shoulder surgery, but he was able to trace the cause to the mid-back. When he treated that, the shoulder pain went away. Had he operated on the shoulder, it probably would have continued to hurt because the shoulder was fine. I went in for an injury and he was quickly able to pinpoint the cause and get me to physical therapy. The physical therapy department in his office, led by Dr. Nugent, is excellent. The guy is really smart and cares a lot about his patients. The only downside is that you may wait a while to be seen. His thoroughness comes at a minor cost. The waits can be long some days, but I'd rather wait for good service than have a doctor spend 2-3 minutes with me on a half-assed exam but be right on schedule. I understand they limit the number of presenting concerns you can bring in a single visit, but that makes sense.

I booked here when I was having foot pain around 1.5 months ago. After doing research about local podiatrists, I chose this place due to their positive testimonials and experienced doctors. It was super quick and simple to book online, too. They do have limited availability for Dr. Halihan specifically (I believe he's only at this particular location on Thursdays) so be sure to check that if you'd like to book with him! The actual building has so much parking right in front and to the side which is great for Chicago. The waiting room was humongous and I was taken in relatively quickly both times. The receptionists at the front are very nice and personable, too. I had to reschedule one other time before my follow-up appointment and the lady was very helpful on the phone. They discovered I have a stress fracture and took x-rays at both of my appointments here. He listened to me thoroughly and gave me a boot to help, along with other tips on what to do to heal it. Even after a few days in the boot and not walking as much my foot felt so much better! If you're looking for an affordable doctor who knows what he's doing, I definitely recommend this place. Check if they take your insurance before, too! Will definitely be returning if I have any other foot problems moving forward.

They are always nice and have worked with Dr. Perns for years. They are very accommodating as far as appointments and treatments are concerned. Always a pleasant experience.

I've been a patient of Dr. Victor Romano for many years, and I can confidently say that he is one…read moreof the most professional, compassionate, and effective orthopedic surgeons I've ever encountered. Over the years, he has performed successful procedures on my shoulder, both legs, wrist, and elbow. Most recently, in the summer of 2025, I underwent a full knee replacement under his care, and the entire experience--from initial consultation to recovery--has been exceptional. What stands out most about Dr. Romano is his conservative and thoughtful approach. When he first noted that I might eventually need a knee replacement, he didn't rush to schedule surgery. Instead, he made the recommendation but gave me the time and space to decide when I was ready. I ultimately waited a year before going through with it, and I'm very glad I did it on my own timeline with his continued support. Pre-operative care was outstanding. His team provides clear, thorough guidance to help patients prepare for surgery, including medical and lab clearances, and a pre-surgery meeting to ensure everything is in order. I had my procedure at Rush Oak Park, which--like Dr. Romano's team--was excellent across the board. Though it was an outpatient surgery, I stayed overnight and received top-notch care throughout. Dr. Romano came to see me in the recovery area shortly after surgery to check in personally, reassure me, and explain how the procedure had gone. What impressed me even more was that he returned the following day--Saturday--to visit me in the hospital. He didn't have to do that; Rush has hospitalists assigned to oversee patient transitions and discharge. But Dr. Romano took the time to come in himself, examine me, and ensure everything was on track. That level of care and commitment is rare and deeply appreciated. He also gave me his personal cell phone number so I could text him directly with any questions or concerns. That kind of accessibility is almost unheard of, and he was genuinely responsive. Of course, his office team is also attentive and available, but knowing I could reach him personally was incredibly reassuring. Follow-up care has been just as thoughtful. At my post-operative visit, a member of his office team carefully checked my scar tissue, explained the next steps in recovery, and extended necessary medications. It's clear that patient well-being and recovery are top priorities for Dr. Romano and his entire staff. In-home physical therapy--arranged through a company they work with--has also been exceptional. The professionals from Interim HealthCare have been friendly, skilled, and focused on results. Even within a single week, I saw marked improvement in my right leg's strength and mobility thanks to their expert guidance. I wholeheartedly give Dr. Romano and his team five stars. Their professionalism, courtesy, thoroughness, and genuine care for patients make them stand out. Most of all, they take the time to listen and answer questions, ensuring you feel fully supported at every stage of your treatment. I recommend Romano Orthopedics without hesitation.

Upon checking in we were told that the doctor did not put in or order the xrays. The Front Desk Lady named Ms Rosa (5 STARS for her) had to go chase and look for the nurse or the doctor to order the xrays. The first visit is already a bad so here's what happened. We checked in and was taken in the ptients room and then along came a fellow (a student doctor) who started questioning why my son was using a walker and that he shouldn't be using it since he does noy need to. I was trying not to lose my patience so I told him that his right leg is weak due to the injury so he was given a walker to support him. After a few minutes, he said we need a set of xrays so I guess he was in a hurry and started walking fast so the my son with a broken back and a walker is trying to catch up with him. After he dropped us off at the Xray Department, he said in his exact words "Just head on back to the room when you guys are done". When we got back in the room he did his exam on my son and he keeps repeating questions over and over. After the exam, the actual doctor came in for about 5 mins and asked/quizzed the student doctor what he thinks caused the injury and then looked at me and said "Okay he needs to continue wearing his back brace and come back in a month" without even trying to explain how my son's injury is. I have to ask him what he can and can not do. Worst doctor I haver ever encountered. Shriner's Hospital helps a lot and continues to help a lot of people. It just so happened that they have one doctor and a student that doesn't know how to care and put a patient and a parent at ease. /G\
