Eckstein... my first German review and simply enough it was the. best. schnitzel. and meal. I. had. in. Germany. two weeks, this is the top of the top. The service strightly German, the menu, strictly German - does it matter? NOPE this food was so good so fresh the flavors blasted my flavor recepeptors... we went back TWICE - first meal is pictured got the friend potatotes with my schnitzel, second meal second meal I paid the extra euros to upgrade those potatoes to mashed potatoes and I tell you what.... I tell you what... it is worth every pence. Dine here. eat here. Eckstein is doing it right they are doing it really really right!

We stopped by on our way home from Spiel in Essen…read more We had the breakfast buffet, which I can only recommend. For 12.90€ you really get your money's worth. The waiter/service was really kind and chatty. We didn't sit in the main restaurant, but that was OK. We had the entire newly renovated eating area for ourselves, but still got great service. If you are driving on the A1, this place is definitely worth the small detour. We were there on a Sunday and the place was packed, so keep that in mind.
