Middle of November my husband was having skin issues. He had a skin punch done on 11/19/19 hoping for a diagnosis so we can get him better. We got results for spongiotic dermatitis. Negative for fungus. This was done by western pathology.Doctor recommended antibiotics and some ointment. A week later, it full blown blew up and was spreading all over his mid section. So we had to go to the doctors again and get a referral to the dermatologist. So we did so. Had another skin punch done on 12/5/19.This sample was sent to Denver.As we waited for results he was so uncomfortable he couldnt work for days. Finally the results came back. Tested positive for fungus. WTF??? so we got the correct medication to treat, since now we had the correct results. I got my bill from western pathology.... $350. Got the bill from Denver, $80. So I have to pay $350 for improper diagnosis. I brought this the western pathology attention about the bullshit results. Just got a call back that because the test was 3 weeks apart, I am responsible for the bill. The sample was taken from same area on his body. But what's up with the price difference, I asked. She had the nerve to state " well it's like if you choose to shop at safeway or wal mart." Get the F out of here. Moral of the story, our hospital pathology are crooks! If you have the option to send a specimen somewhere else, do it! What a joke! read more
