After driving 10 hours, I just wanted somewhere comfortable to sleep. There was hair all over the tub. A dead bug in the bath and a smooshed fly on the lampshade. The carpet was disgusting. Everything was just dirty. I asked to switched rooms just to find pee on the toilet seat.

The beds were ample and the decor was modern. There is free wifi and the location is right in the middle of town. Being in the middle of town is good for getting to the restaurants and sites, but bad because you are near their main drag and there are lots of loud trucks outside. My guess is high school kids showing off their rides while cruising. Exercise room was merely a couple of stationary bikes next to a mirror. There was an indoor pool, but I did not check it out. The included breakfast was a good way to wake up. I've never had a fantastic free hotel breakfast and this one does not fall into that category. The sausage patties and eggs were typical buffet quality and there pastries and coffee were ho hum, but the waffles were good and there was enough food choices to get the day going. I did appreciate having orange and apple juices too (from concentrate). Overall, the Best Western in Lamesa is a good place to stay if you are in this part of the world.

I called to reserve some rooms for the employees that were working in the area. The front desk employees that attended me were very helpful and they made it very fast and convenient. Usually if you make a reservation for some rooms at other hotels they give you a hard time asking for the credit card authorization form along with the copy of front and back of credit card and a copy of the ID. But Budget Host just asks for the credit card authorization form and signature and that's it. No hassle! For a single queen bed is $55 and for a double bed room is $66 very cheap. The employees informed me that their stay was great and they felt comfortable. They said it was clean and it was remodeled and the parking lot was secure. Whenever we have employees are in the area and they need a place to stay we will be using the Budget Host again. Thank you Budget Host!

The Inn is located next to an open field. So you may see an occasional a bug (we didn't) or dust with an open field. Our room was ideal for our needs with an exceptionally clean room, a quite, AC unit that kept our room cool yet a quiet unit so we could enjoy a good night's rest. Plenty of hot shower water and a nice large vanity (for all my essential!). The Inn offers an included breakfast and dinner to their guests. Breakfast appears to be daily and dinner Monday through Friday. We were arriving shortly after 7 p.m. and upon calling to see if they had a room for the night they told us not to worry about dinner they would take care of us even though dinner ended at 8 p.m. We arrived in plenty of time, but it wa a nice gester of hospitality when you've been in the road all day. Definitely give the Southern Inn and Suites a try. BTW there was soap in our room neatly decorated on a towel on the edge of the bathtub!

A little weird I know, but the lot next door is full of little prairie dogs and burrowing owls. It's super fun to sit out and watch them play. We stayed in a suite - 2 queen beds as well as a sofa bed. It was such a large room; perfect for our family! The sink was separate from the bathroom, and there was a second sink in the kitchen area. The kitchen area had a mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. There were plenty of places for everyone's phone/watch chargers. Everything was clean. A/C was cold. We did have to ask for a few more washcloths and towels, since we were 5 people, but the front desk took care of it. The hotel seemed quite full (we saw at least two high school teams there), yet we did not hear lots of noise, and had no problems getting a good night's sleep. Breakfast is included in your stay. Even with the two large groups staying at the same time as us, the breakfast was refilled often, so we were still able to enjoy all the choices available. There was bacon, omelets, toast, muffins, bagels, scones, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, waffles, fruit, coffee, tea, juice, and water. The breakfast attendant did a great job. This was a great stay after a full day of driving! I would highly recommend staying here.

Was going to use plugin for coffee maker where refrigerator and microwave are BUT THISE PLUGS ARE COVERED UP. Refrigerator was barely cool when arrived. Refrigerator is located in a locked door cabinet. So who designed a lock door cabinet for a refrigerator that gets no air. So refrigerator quits working til I got to room and left cabinet door open and refrigerator, after 3 hours finally kept my drinks nice and cold. Not happy at all.

Clean microwave and large new refrigerators, comfortable beds and pillows, extra blankets available, clean bathroom, etc. Safe and well-cared for premises. Finally, the couple who owns the motel, when they are present, are some of the friendliest, most engaging, and interesting people I have ever met. Great welcome after a long drive... and often I am treated to long interesting conversations that give me something to think about long afterwards. Pet friendly, too. What else can anyone ask for?

But best of all: Caroline at the front desk! Checkin was super fast. Both times she sported a great smile and went the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. She even doubled-covered the second extra pillow my wife requested! Rooms were very clean and smelled great! Furniture was new, beds were very comfortable and extra pillows on each bed: always a nice touch. AC worked great. The white-noise from the "ON" fan-switch helped the kids sleep well through the night. The fridge & freezer worked perfectly. Breakfast was the usual HIE bfast: good coffee; hot egg omelets, bacon, pancakes & waffles; yogurts; cereal; and those tasty Cinnabon cinnamon rolls my kids really like. We didn't have time to check out the pool, hot tub or workout room, but the business center & "suite store" were well-stocked and ready to serve. If you're ever looking for an overnighter in Brownfield, I think you'll rest comfortably at the HIE.
