We were told that the breakfast was "made to order", but that turned out to be telling someone behind a window to make something. There wasn't even a menu which seems like the least they could do. The rest of the breakfast, if you could even call it that, was some prepackaged shit that looked like it had been there since the beginning of the pandemic. Real classy. Not gonna lie the coffee was pretty decent. So long demopolis, I hope we never meet again.

I'd never been to Meridian before, just passed through on the same road trip home after the holidays. It's about 4 and a half hours from NOLA and the perfect place to stay before the final leg of the trip home so that we'd be home at a reasonable hour. Meridian feels a bit frozen in time and this hotel is situated in a quaint downtown area. It's not very lively, even on a Saturday night but I believe the rooftop bar here might be where the action is (I passed it by when getting water in the gym that's on the same floor). I like a Tribute property, which always promises a less corporate/more boutique stay. It has its charm (original mail chute, be still my heart!) and quirks (tiny rooms, old timey elevators that take their time). The main lobby is mainly the restaurant (closed when I arrived around 9pm on a Saturday) with reception in what seems like bank teller windows. I appreciate the convenience of a Starbucks right next door (entrance from the lobby) and if we weren't looking to rest after a endless car ride, there's a few places to get food/drinks within walking distance. Rooms are cozy, beds are excellent and the bathroom is small/nothing special. Would this be an ideal stay for a vacation? Probably not, though I don't expect a vacation in Meridian anytime soon, if ever. I'd stay again, as a more interesting road trip stay than your typical Marriott Courtyards/Fairfield/Residence Inns. When we stayed it was only a little over 100 dollars/night, which is pretty sweet.

The young lady at the desk was as helpful as she could be under the circumstances. There was what appeared to be body fluids (blood, not rust) on the sheets, the toilet paper dispenser was falling out of the wall, as was the smoke detector. A lamp had no plug to be plugged into, there were stains on the carpet that made me feel as though I should keep my shoes on at all times. Broken auto glass in the parking lot was not reassuring either.

The carpet is old and filthy and does not even look to be secured properly by the walls. The ceiling fan looks as though it has never been wiped down as it is caked with dust and grime. There is an ironing board....with no iron as advertised. Now the good part...let's move to the bathroom. As you walk in you can smell the musty moldy room. The ceiling is covered with dark mold and is cracked and peeling all over. The sink is also crazy dirty, almost like we are being pranked or something. The shower also had a wonderful surprise, left behind soap from the previous guest. As we were looking around, we saw a roach crawling up the door. I have never seen so much filth in a commercial setting. If it was not so late we would be leaving and heading to a different place to stay. If I can save anyone from this filth then it's worth it to me to write all this.. I hardly ever leave reviews but this seemed necessary.

The room has not been cleaned well as there are hand prints on the window, curtains have been pulled down off the track, floors are filthy, everything is covered in dust, coffee pot is located in the bathroom across from the toilet which is covered in a yucky film, toothpaste splattered on the sink, toilet won't stop running, walls are filthy, attempted repairs to the drywall but wasn't finished and repainted. This was once a very nice place to come visit but has gone downhill drastically. The smoke smell is so strong that its nauseating.

I scoured the room for bugs...nothing and other than the 1950s air-conditioning, it's clean enough I'm comfortable. The bed is great, but almost gotta take a running head start to get into it. The sheet you sleep on is like a light face towel...sorta ruff, but soft..its hard to explain, but it's actually really nice. The pillow top is nice, but it's not been rotated so the head is lower than the feet, so I gotta sleep with my head at the foot or my boobs will suffocate me, but Its comfy. I am assuming they don't have breakfast, and I'm not taking a chance on looking in the ice bin way up front... but I hope more people look past the ruff exterior and give Comfort Inn the finger as the unload into this high rise of a motel!

We really enjoyed the Cole House. The inkeepers and owners, The Waltons are very friendly and welcoming hosts. We stayed in the Cottage, which is a private little room w/a porch and bathroom behind the main house. It is close to the casinos if you are interested in heading up to play some cards, catch a concert, or check out a buffett. Very quaint, clean, and full of all kinds of antiques. The main dining room is large for many guests to enjoy meals together. Across from the B&B is a lovely gazebo in a large park area, which could be great for a small wedding party also. All in all, very good first B&B experience!

As always Drury Inns have a popcorn machine in the lobby, that you can grab a bag and explore the property or go back to the room, the choice is yours. This location does have indoor/outdoor pool and a jacuzzi. I really enjoy the Drury Inns, wherever I'm at but this location was GREAT, you could tell they took pride in the location with contemporary and updated look. There was a mishap with the luggage and our tour group, but all in all. I really enjoyed my stay here, no of us perfect and mistakes can be made. They deserve a 5 star rating!!

Our air conditioner did not work and the owner argued with me. The room temperature was 83. There was a pair of dirty underwear in our bathroom. The faucet in the bathroom sink was so hot that we could not touch it. The carpeting is layered with dirt and dust and who knows what. We reserved and were charged for non smoking rooms but after all the air freshener they sprayed in the room wore off, it was obvious that smokers had stayed in this room recently. We are now hoping that there aren't bedbugs. There is no chance for a refund and Expedia could care less, even though they made the reservation through their agreement with the hotel. OH AND THE RATE IS $94/NIGHT
