A few things have changed here since we last visited. First of all, all 3 towers are completed…read more Second, the M5 no longer runs directly under the tower. No idea what happened there, but we had to disembark at Amendola and walk up the street a bit to reach City Life. I do wonder. We were meeting my lovely friend here for a coffee and long over due visit! We stopped in to a coffee shop that serves Illy brand espresso. If you know espresso, you know about Illy. After that we went to the grocery store to buy a needle and thread. A button fell off a coat. The grocery store is just as nice as ever and has absolutely everything. Including my needed needle and thread! Next we walked all around the shopping mall. It was busy for a week day and all the store fronts are filled! Eventually we found a seat and visited for a while until my friend had to leave for a party. She walked us back to the Amendola station via a more direct and pleasant route through a neighborhood. City Life Shopping District mostly serves the many apartment dwellers who live all around Tre Torre. (Some of these are multi-million dollar apartments) Besides coffee shop and grocery store it has many restaurants and lots of clothes stores plus more. When in Milan, it's an interesting stop to see the modern apartment buildings constructed by a famous architect and check out the stores. And of course, you have to stop in for a coffee.

I spotted a few Target bags and my heart skipped a beat... YES, the logo on the bag was off and that alone should have been a red flag.. but i still had my hopes up it would be THE Target store... But, like all dreams, reality bites. .. We still got in to check quite a few useless (and debatable) gadget: way overpriced for the low chinese quality. Another review claims it may remind the shopper of Spencer's. I disagree, Spencer's got SWAG and funny stuff... this place has NEITHER. Needless to say, we came out empty handed and slightly unhappy. There's nothing I'd be able to purchase there.

It's definitely more conservative classy but perfect for work or more dressy events. We purchased a number of items in store because the quality, fit, and winter/new year prices were good. There is a NYC and an online presence for this retailer so do check out their catalog. I personally like the fit of their coats, scarves, and dresses. Many pieces say dry clean but I typically cold machine wash and flat line dry with no issues. The fit is slim so allow yourself room or double-check measurements.

I obtained a wonderful antique Coccinelle purse for my wife, after using my best haggling skills, getting down to what I thought was a bargain price. Of course, it turned out to not actually be a true Coccinelle purse but it was and remains quite stylish. This Sunday, the 12th of April, there was an incredible marketplace of flowers, bulbs, cheeses and other sundries. The crowds were incredible since the weather was perfecto. Fueled by excellent Italian espresso, we explored and explored some more. I really don't think many tourists know about this place since every single soul is speaking fluently while I speak Italian with a terrible accent.
