I adopted a cat through the RSPCA Pet Adoption. As they use West Toowoomba Veterinary Surgery for the animals that come into their care, I thought it was best to continue her care there as they were the ones who did her vaccinations, desexing and microchipping. I called WTVS to book a time for our cat to get her stitches removed. I told them I had never been there before, that they had taken care of our cat while she was with the RSPCA, we had only just adopted her and she needed her stitches out. We showed up for her appointment, handed over our paperwork with our cats' information, vaccinations, microchipping, desexing, and her notice for free stitches removal at that vet surgery etc and were left waiting for over half an hour before the vet called us in. Without asking about why were were there, he went straight into the paperwork about her vaccinations and that she didn't even need to be there! So, I had to turn around and tell him that she wasn't there for vaccinations and she was there to have her stitches out. They tried to charge me for the removal of the stitches, although changed their tune when I again handed back the notice that I already provided that said they would provide free stitches removal. Disgraceful, unprofessional and incompetent, I don't know why the RSPCA uses them, I will be taking our new family member elsewhere. read more
