1 STAR -- AND THAT'S BEING GENEROUS.
I have been shopping at this thrift store for YEARS, and I can tell you that it was a completely different place before the new owners took over. It used to actually be pleasant to shop there. Now? It feels greedy, disrespectful, and completely hypocritical.
For a store that wants to call itself a CHRISTIAN thrift store, the way certain customers are treated is absolutely disgusting. I have personally experienced and witnessed behavior that I felt was racist, disrespectful, and completely inappropriate. Employees follow customers around the store as if they're being watched for doing something wrong, and the attitude from some of the staff is just plain nasty.
And let's talk about the prices. This place gets DONATED merchandise for FREE and then turns around and marks it up like crazy. You can see something for one price one day, come back the next day, and suddenly that SAME item has a higher price. How convenient. I've also seen bags being sold that appeared to be counterfeit designer bags, which is extremely concerning.
Then there's the favoritism.
I personally donated an ENTIRE PALLET of brand-new car parts. Not used. Not junk. BRAND-NEW CAR PARTS. I donated them expecting that they would be sold in the thrift store and the money would go toward whatever cause the store claims to support.
Instead, Robert called one of his buddies, and his buddy came and picked up the car parts I had donated.
Let that sink in.
I DONATED a whole pallet of brand-new merchandise, and instead of seeing those items put out for customers to purchase, they were given to someone Robert knew. That experience alone completely changed how I look at this place and how I feel about donating anything to them.
And the employees? The amount of talking about customers and each other's business is ridiculous. I've heard employees arguing in the back room over prices, talking about people, and carrying on in ways that are completely unprofessional. If you're going to work somewhere that claims to represent Christian values, maybe start by treating people with some basic respect.
What really gets me is how they handle criticism. They can dish out the attitude, follow people around, treat customers differently, and do whatever they want -- but the second somebody writes an honest review about their experience, suddenly they want to play the victim and act like they're being attacked.
NO.
If you don't like negative reviews, FIX THE PROBLEMS that are causing people to leave them.
This place needs serious staff retraining. Employees need to learn how to treat ALL customers respectfully, stop discussing people's personal business, stop arguing about prices where customers can hear it, and stop making certain shoppers feel like they're being watched or singled out.
And if you're going to put the word CHRISTIAN in your business name, maybe actually practice the values you're advertising.
I used to enjoy shopping here. I used to donate here. After everything I've experienced and witnessed, I would think twice before giving this place another dollar OR another donation.
People donate because they TRUST that their donations are going to be used appropriately. That trust should not be taken for granted read more
