Moda Hair salon is seriously over-priced. They offer a range of options including extensions, straightening, highlights and your standard cut/colour/blow dry. Each one will leave a deep dent in your wallet, and a twinge of regret in your mind. Moda's pricing scheme also baffles me. I understand the child/ adult price range you encounter in most places (e.g. adult haircut= $20, child haircut= $10). But Moda's child/ teenager/ adult price differences seem a little weird. This pricing scheme means a cut, colour and blow-dry with cost $85 for teenagers, and $98 for adults. As well as the steep prices, service is slow, and employees often seem totally uninterested in what they're doing. Moda Hair does not offer the superior services their prices suggest. They should either lower their prices, or increase the quality of their services.

Especially not with my head. Sam's place is inaccessible to anyone not buying a pair of jeans at the back corner of DJs level 1 Mens department. I can get a decent cut from Sam and nobody will even know. It can take two days before someone at home twigs. Bit expensive but I don't want to train another barber, so $45 a pop it is. The privacy is worth it.

Avoid like the plague…read more I can't actually speak about the quality of the hair service as I walked out after ten minutes due to the shockingly bad customer service. The hairdresser (I don't know her name as she didn't bother to introduce herself) was impatient, unhelpful and didn't explain herself clearly at all. I gave her four bullet points for what I wanted to achieve and showed her several photos of hairstyles I liked and would like to emulate if possible, but she just said it would not be possible to copy those styles and instead told me just to choose the colours I wanted for high and lowlights, at the same time as saying that the colours I was looking at were not true reflections of how they would look on my head! How can you choose colours if you they're not actually the colours you'll get! Why can't I show you a photo and have you select the dyes that will achieve that? I got nothing but roadblocks and a surly attitude from her. I wouldn't have minded so much if it weren't for the fact that I had driven all the way from Bondi for the appointment as I wanted to find a 'pregnancy safe' salon. It turns out many other salons are pregnancy safe too - they just don't advertise the fact as explicitly as this one. When you visit a hairdresser, most women want help and advice from an expert, we are paying for a service. We expect to be treated with patience and respect and not made to feel confused, rushed and stupid for not knowing the exact code of the shade that would best suit our complexion. Worst salon I've ever had the misfortune to step inside. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I sat down and explained to the owner from the beginning that I wanted an ombre and showed pictures of what I wanted, she didn't know what an ombre was and had completely damaged half my head when she just bleached the bottom half with no highlight or blending technique it just look ridiculous, then she told me this is what I wanted. I had to go to another salon to FIX yes FIX the damaged caused and they recommended the bleached part to be cut off as the bleach that she used was too strong and it damaged my long hair. cheapness comes at a price - I CRIED :(

I only needed a trim and I only had about a half hour till I needed to pick up my partner. I don't want to wait and I don't think I'll make it if I drive to my other barber. Ok, let's give it a try. I walked into the salon, immediately was able to sit down in a chair and the lady asks me how I want it cut. I tell her I just needed a trim and she proceeded to cut my hair with ease and style. I was impressed. Since I was only spending $10 on the haircut I opted to have my hair washed and styled (only another $7). It was a good decision. I walked out feeling so fresh and so clean and was on time to pick up my beautiful partner.

We walked over to the shop and yep, there was a catch... it's now a WHOLE $12.00, still the cheapest hair cut my husband would ever have. We walked in and was greeted with about 4 salon workers, not really sure who worked there and who didn't as he was told to sit in 3 differant chairs. A young man asked him what he wanted done and about 10mins later he was done. Best hair cut my husband has ever had! We normally pay $40 every six weeks so this was GREAT find.
