There's portapotties all around the area, but no actual bathrooms with plumbing or anywhere to change. The splash pad is just water spraying from the ground, there are no fun water tables or anything. The playground is pretty nice and there is a smaller one for smaller kids as well. There is also a fairly big parking lot so finding space should be easy. The park is very nicely maintained, the grass is cut and there's pretty flowers planted everywhere. There's no graffiti on the playground and there's no garbage thrown around.

The playground isn't the most fun playground, but because of everything else this is 4 stars!!

There is a children's playground as well with a wide variety of features like swings, climbing walls/ropes, diggers, slides, spinners, and more-- you and/or your kiddos are gonna have lots of fun here. The playground is on gravel. There's also a volleyball court with sand, and lots of open grassy space to kick or throw about a ball. Seriously excellent amenities. The trail has inconsistent surfaces-- some of it is paved, other parts are dirt and gravel. Just something to be aware of (it wouldn't work well for skateboarding or rollerblading, for example). There are a couple docks you can fish off of or just sight-see from. A wooden bridge across the lake makes for excellent photographs. There is also a boat ramp (walk to, not drive to). The parking lot is pretty large with many spaces.

That said, some of the animal enclosures were pretty small and sad. The penguins didn't look like they had much water, the crocodiles had fake grass in their enclosure and minimal water, etc. That said, we don't know much about zoo requirements or animal health. It would have been nice to see more information about how/why the animals are kept at the zoo -- are they rescued? Does the zoo return them back to different environments eventually? Things like that. Our son loved the playground and feeding the giraffe. It was a nice pit stop, just a bit jarring when you're used to the Minnesota zoo and Como.
