I'd unfortunately contracted a toenail fungus on two toes from the last nail salon I visited about 2 years ago. I've been successfully treating it with Vicks application at least once daily but had thickened nails. I'd not found another nail salon for pedicures that I trusted in all of that time, and when I went to WGPA for my job, I discovered their Medi Foot Spa. I'm so pleased I did, because I'll be returning for more excellent care. I'm older, have creaky knees, and have trouble taking care of my own toenails these days; now, I have a delightful, professional, knowledgeable, and superb technician to take care of my feet and nails. I asked how much the services would cost while scheduling the appointment and was told that they could not determine it at that time. I still chose to go with them because their availability matched my work schedule. I paid the $50 co-pay and waited to see the doctor. Dr. Langlo removed the the surface layer of the nail and kept a sample to send to the lab. He told me it was a minor surface level fungus and that I was fine but wanted to send in a sample to be safe. A month later I received two bills in the mail. One from the office and the other from the lab both totaling $428.13. I was surprised by the cost and called the billing dept to inquire why I was charged this amount without being told when I asked originally. Before I could complete my question I was cut off by the representative who told me that I have to discuss it with my insurance. I tried to ask why I was charged $175 for an office visit that lasted 30 mins and was cut off again with instructions to talk to my insurance but in a louder tone. Dr. Langlo was kind and professional. His treatment made me feel better about my condition. Receiving the large bill in the mail was surprising but the reason I'm rating this office a 2/5 was because there was no transparency in the billing. Also when I tried to gain clarity I was rudely dismissed by their billing department representative. In summary the medical service was good but just be aware that the transparency isn't there and depending on your insurance a large medical bill can fall onto you without you having any heads up from the health care provider.
