The physicians are board certified in medical oncology and hematology. They are located in the Axelrod Pavilion on the campus of Morton Plant Hospital in Clearwater. Setting up the appointment was very easy and everyone that I spoke with was really nice. I had a Telehealth call with Dr. Gadiyaram. My primary care doctor had sent over all of my paperwork so the doctor could have a chance to review it before our call. The call started right on time and Dr. Gadiyaram was very nice and extremely knowledgeable. I know that most people would never need to see a hematologist or even know what one is but when you need one...you need one! I can definitely recommend Dr. Gadiyaram and her BayCare Group.

My appointment was scheduled well in advance for 11/07/24 @ 11:00 a.m.. After arriving 15 mins prior to my appointment, I was taken back to the exam room. 11:00 a.m. came and went. I sat there for 40 minutes and no physician or other staff checked on me, or to say things were running behind. I got up, went to the door, and a nurse practitioner was walking by, she asked "do you need anything?", I said I am here to see the physician, but I think they forgot me. She walked past me and went into another exam room without saying anything else, The MA overheard the conversations, came over and said, oh, you are next. I waited another 20 minutes, and told the person behind the check out desk that I was leaving as I had already spent an hour here, and I had other appointments. This experience was unprofessional, and not pleasant. I did not feel valued as a patient, and although Dr Ramos may of had a reason for missing my appointment, there is no excuse for leaving a patient alone in an exam room for an hour with no updates. I asked for him to acknowledge the missed appointment and it went unanswered. I guess his ego will not allow him to admit how lame it is to do this to a patient. I would also hope that Baycare does not bill Medicare or my supplemental for this encounter that never happened. I would not recommend this physician to anyone who does not have a lot of time on their hands to sit in a waiting room or exam room for a long time.

A very friendly expert in the field in Brandon, Fl told me the reason for my horrible experiences at numerous Women's Care facilities is due to how the company is owned and pushing patients for numbers to be met. He worked closely with Women's Care previously and succeeded further to open his own private practice, hence the tip he gave me about this specific business. *I had fibroids and endometriosis and they were trying to put me on a chemically induced menopause drug called Lupron at only 29 years of age with no children yet*. They told me if I didn't get on these drugs, I would potentially run the risk of my uterus being "Frankensteined". 3 doctors later, an MRI & news that if I were to take Lupron to "shrink" my 10 cm fibroid, I would have lost my hair and gone through menopause temporarily (hoping my period would come back) and go through absolute hell and it wouldn't have shrank because my fibroid was pedunculated.. An expert told me that Lupron doesn't shrink pedunculated fibroids. I do not believe this practice is professional enough or has expertise in such odd cases like myself. If you have endo/ fibroids go to Dr. Michael Stine in Brandon, Fl. He might be expensive but he is worth the relief you will get knowing the surgery you may need will be taken care of in the RIGHT hands who has done thousands of these surgeries, especially with odd cases like mine. Please god do not go to the Women's care with your business!!!!!!! They are pushing big pharma on you & will not diagnose you properly.

Also, if scheduled for a procedure, you are required to pay for that up front and in FULL as well before even being billed to insurance. Billing manager, Kim is very rude and Robin, office manager will not allow any patient to be seen unless total balance of bills are paid up front, no payment plan or exceptions made. I would not recommend this office.

If you need any help with Breast Cancer screening to surgery, Dr. Peter Blumencranz is the one of…read morethe best Breast Cancer Surgeons/Doctors, in the US, to see for Breast Cancer. He is brilliant and saved my life. Even if you live far away, but it's your first BC surgical need, give his office a ring. Dr. Blumencranz did a gene assay test on me to biopsy my lymph nodes on the breast side with cancer, during surgery, to see if any other lymph nodes were cancerous. What this meant was, he did not need to dig around in my arm pit and remove all my lymph nodes during my first or subsequent surgeries to take out more or all lymph nodes. This alleviates the need to have multiple surgeries, and limits the need for removing healthy lymph nodes. Lymph nodes are needed to support your body's lymphatic system which regulates fluid, toxins, etc. The lymph nodes may have cancer cells, and the biopsy of all lymph nodes on the side with cancer, is a critical process necessary to stop the spread of breast cancer. This test also has a higher rate of accuracy, and improves detection vs. the traditional surgical methods. This procedure was approved by the FDA in 2007. Dr. Blumencranz spent years developing and testing the surgical biopsy process of the lymph nodes. He had already been a surgeon for 25+ years when I saw him. Dr. B has also travelled around the US to introduce this procedure to other Cancer centers, and help train and support other surgeons so more breast cancer patients can have this procedure done. Make sure you research the procedure for yourself, read all the material, and ask all the necessary questions, as with any surgery. Make sure you also get tested for any potential allergies for imagine dyes, like a blue dye. Reason being - so you don't have an allergy to the dye used to biopsy the lymph nodes during surgery. My mother has an allergy to any dyes administered via IV. Which covers dyes used in MRI's, CAT Scans, etc. Mother would not be able to have this type of biopsy of the lymph nodes, for example. But those of you who do not have a dye allergy, should be ok. Just remember to ask about it, and maybe find a way to get pre-tested if the Doctor requires. I don't know what that may be, but just want to bring it up just in case. All my best to all women with their breast health. For those of you who haven't had a mammogram yet and you are under 40/years, please discuss with your primary doctor. 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer. If your family has a history of any cancer, or if you pursue getting the breast cancer gene test, getting a mammogram at 30 or 35 should be considered. My cancer started growing when I was 35. I didn't get my first mammogram until I was 41, and when I finally got it, I had a very large tumor, which was growing for 7 years (est by the cancer team). Below are some articles covering the Gene Assay test for the Lymph Nodes during Breast Cancer Surgery, and additional research and work that Dr. Blumencranz has published in 2014 at a Cancer Symposium in Miami Florida.
