Our Jack passed away in my arms suddenly at home on January 1, 2026. We took him in to West Coast Pet Memorial the next day for a private/individual cremation. The day was so hard and I just didn't want to let him go. He was my heart, my best boy. We were treated with compassion, respect and knew we were leaving him in good hands. We got him back a week later. His urn is beautiful, and the presentation was more than we expected. The paw print in clay sits on a stand next to his urn. I still miss him terribly, and cry daily. Our Junior passed away after a long and hard fight with FIV. We took him in last summer after he spent most of his 14 years on the streets being abused. He was terrified of people but came to trust us as we cared for him. He declined quickly and we made the tough decision to say goodbye at Wilvet South. They work with this company and sent Junior to them with our permission. We got an email from WCPM less than an hour after Junior was gone. We took a couple of days to grieve and process and made the selections on the website. We chose the photo urn and a clay pawprint. We submitted our choices and paid on 4/28, two days after Junior left us. He was cremated on 5/1 and we didn't receive notification that he was ready until 5/6. Longer than expected, but maybe they're very busy right now. My partner went and picked Junior up. We live very close so it was convenient. He said the person he talked to was friendly and the process was quick: just sign a form and you get your pet back. Junior was in a velvet bag that was placed inside a paper gift bag. His pawprint was in a case similar to a jewelry case. There was an unmarked envelope that contained a certificate of cremation, which was a bit unexpected. We were expecting a card or something nice, not something so....clinical. The urn is fine, it looks a bit cheap. You have to unscrew it from the bottom and see your pets ashes in a bag if you want to put a photo in it. That's a bit much for us so we are going to see if we can slot a photo of our special boy in through the front of the frame instead. The thing that really dropped my rating happened today, the day after we brought Junior home. I was cleaning up and dealing with the bags left over after we put Junior on our mantle. The velvet bag has cremains on the outside of it. I picked it up and immediately touched the cremains of a pet, and I'm choosing to tell myself that it's not my Junior because that would break me in ways I can't even describe. It was clear that whoever packed our boy up put the bag on a surface that had cremains spilled on it. The cremains looked and felt like both ash and ground up bone. I immediately felt sick to my stomach and felt like I was going to pass out. What kind of careless person spills someone's beloved pet, doesn't clean it up, and then puts a pretty bag that goes to the client on top of that? How do you not immediately clean up something like that? Is the work area such a mess that this is unavoidable? Do they just spill cremains all over the place? Do they empty the cremulator all over a countertop and just sweep the remains into a plastic bag? What are they doing that this happened? It's completely unacceptable and the several people I've told about it have agreed. It was incredibly upsetting in the moment and now I'm just furious that these people were careless enough to allow it to happen. I would not allow WCPM to take care of another pet of mine when they're gone. We didn't have a choice this time, but next time I'm going to make sure we do. We walked in with our baby wrapped in a blanket and there was deafening hammering and drilling. Really? This is a place of loss and grief; do your renovations after hours. The paw print we bought didn't get his entire paw/every toe. We literally could've done better at home. And to top all that off, in what looked like an envelope for a condolence card was a "certificate of cremation." Wtf? Heartless all the way around. read more

I lucked out that the vet who helped my senior pet pass peacefully handled all of the logistics for me. She helped me make my selections regarding the cremation process. I received a call 1 week after the passing and picked up the ashes that same day. The staff were professional and kind. Definitely recommend. I do know that the previous reviews were not great and honestly if my vet hadn't recommended them I would have really hesitated. Those reviews are over 4 years old. And I didn't experience the same things that the OPs experienced. I'm so sorry that they had those honestly. This business does seem to have grown and learned. read more

Losing a beloved pet is one of the most traumatic experiences one can go through. Everyone at Rest Assured is understanding, compassionate, attentive, and truly made that experience much less painful. Sherrie (sp?) is efficient, calm, and kind. She went above and beyond to help with a distressing and confusing situation (not related to Rest Assured, but with the vet service), keeping in communication with me throughout, and ultimately leading to a resolution that brought me much needed relief. Quite unexpectedly my beloved Penelope reached her last day. Not only did the vet make a house call she took Penny to West Coast Pet Memorial. Today we received her ashes and a treasured paw print casting. Of course the tears came back but I am so very impressed with the beautiful presentation they made of this very ad time. This was my first time choosing this option of handling a pet's remains (previously had the option of burying in a friend's lovely garden). But another dear friend's own choices to have their pets cremated and having them thereafter with them, in their home in a special place .... that resonated with me as the thing to do for my cat, Suki. Via internet search I came upon Rest Assured Pet Cremation in the Eugene, OR area. FYI that just as I was engaging with them, I learned that they were making a business shift to coming under the name West Coast Pet Memorial Services. My pro-activeness to get confirmation of the text on the name plate for my chosen urn, by email, brought me to be in contact with what seemed to be the new owner and uplifted my confidence in everything be handled in good order, ie correctly. My cat died at home, so it was the only option for me to being her to the facility, near the Eugene airport, myself. To me, if you can, chose to bring your pet in yourself. I think you might feel better to do so. I had her lightly sealed in a box, in a bag within it (per reading what to do with the body elsewhere online, in preparation for bringing them for cremation due to decomposition). I would also recommend marking your name and your pet's name on the outside of the box. Rest Assured's hours are imo very ample, Monday-Friday, until 6pm. One chooses to have their pet cremated communally or privately (there is a modest price difference). There is a basic urn option that would automatically come with that "purchase", however ... They have so very many urns and other items of remembrance at their business location. A very lovely range of products, including handmade artistic options. It was a little hard to chose! The young lady who attended to me went into the storage area to bring out a couple of other small carved boxes .. there was a variance .. and thus I found my perfect choice. So, another reason to bring your pet's remains in person, in order that you have that opportunity for choosing an urn fully suiting you, the memory of your pet, and your budget. There are other extras one can chose as well, from paw print imprints on paper or in ceramic mold, to a name plate for the urn, and more. It took a couple of weeks for me to get the call to pick up my urn (imagine choosing an engraved name plate ($15) probably added a week+ to the order completion), but I was not in a big rush. Preferred the job to be done well, than fast. The gift bag parcel on pick up was thoughtfully prepared and included an official card stating the day of cremation and a reproduction of the Rainbow Bridge poem on the card cover and another sweet quotation inside the card. The urn was set in tissue paper, in the gift bag, along with my charge receipt and the pawprints I'd also ordered. I recommend and would consider using them again (but hopefully it'll be at least 5 years before I need that). read more

I have been meaning to write a review for some time now but with these strange times it kept slipping my mind. But I knew that I needed to write my review after the amazing service I received from Rest Assured. My beloved dog went into surgery last year, very early on in the pandemic. I wasn't even able to hand him off to the vet directly due to COVID restrictions, I had to put him in a kennel where the vet then picked him up. He was so confused and scared and that was the last moment I had with him before he passed away. I was told the surgery went well but then all of a sudden things took a turn for the worse and he passed away from septic shock. I couldn't believe it, I was in shock and all I wanted to do was see him and say goodbye but I wasn't allowed to, again because of COVID restrictions. I was beside myself. After finally calming down, I decided to have him cremated and found out that he was being transported to Rest Assured. I called Rest Assured to see whether I would be able to cremate some of his favorites things with him and they said of course, which meant a lot. I asked whether I could see him and they said they didn't recommend it because he doesn't look like the dog I would remember... his eyes were open, he had blood on his nose, bandages around his belly, etc. I explained that I never got the option to say goodbye and was heartbroken. The woman I spoke to said that I could make the choice when I went in to drop the items off. I really wasn't sure in that moment what I would do, though everyone told me not to see him. When I arrived at Rest Assured, the woman told me that one of the owners spent hours with my little guy, putting him in a position where I would feel good about seeing him. I decided to trust her and chose to see him. It was the best decision I could've made. He looked like he was sleeping, resting in peace. I can't put into words how much that meant to me... To see him one last time, not scared and confused, but at peace... It was everything. They did not have to go through this extra effort, especially given we were in a pandemic, but they did. I was able to say my goodbyes because of the extra effort that was put in by the owner and it truly meant the world to me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. read more

Our pet died today. The hospital pushed us to make a decision about how to deal with her. They took the payment for this place and gave us no information about what would happen next. We called this establishment. They did not answer the phone and gave no idea when they would. If they know anything about losing a loved one it is not demonstrated. We have dealt with them before when they were called Dignified Pet Services. They, then, answered the phone and helped us plan what to do. It appears all they want now is the money. The compassion part is a thing of the past. A very sad statement on their company now. read more

WARNING!!! DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR BELOVED PETS. WARNING!!! They don't even deserve one star. The flippant ungrateful attitude that you're greeted with by the employees is just the tip of the iceberg. They do everything but treat the pets they cremate like their own as their slogan says. They take full advantage of the circumstances the situations that may bring you here puts you in. Their true address is not listed on their card which is highly suspicious, especially when trying to pick up a loved pet and not being given the address by the employee or owner. They claim to only have a floor to store the animals on in which case they are all left piled like a bunch of wood, making it difficult to allow us to claim our beloved pet from their horrendous treatment. Upon visiting to claim our furry family, another pet owner was absolutely broken and in tears not only due to their loss but because they have absolutely no compassion when working with their customer. Instead of reassuring them they'll do their best they are full of excuses and only concerned about covering their butts to begin with - which leads you to be suspicious - but taking advantage of their location and gas lighting the customers in their time of need and devastation. Once we were able to arrange to have our furry family given back and not mistreated here any longer the employees were equally rude and less than careful despite have another company witness their mess and the family of the loved one. Though they will be sure to fake an apology so if they are reported they can claim they opposite of whatever is blatantly witnessed. GO ANYWHERE ELSE. read more

Today we had an in-home veterinarian euthanize our ailing 14-year furry best friend. She did a wonderful job and was very compassionate. She gave us a card for Rest Assured Pet Cremation to pick up her body. That went well until we carried her body in a blanket to his pickup. His tailgate was open and as we approached he said "my truck's not empty, sorry." Low and behold, his bed was filled with about 8 dead dogs IN GARBAGE BAGS, UNCOVERED! Fur was sticking out the top of the bags, there was condensation on the inside of the bags and it SMELLED like ROTTING animals! If you have to use the bed of a pickup to pick up multiple dead pets, have the COURTESY to place a blanket or tarp over them! That was a sight I will remember for a LONG time. A sight no grieving pet owner should see. We were in shock or we would've pulled her back out of the truck. My advice to you? Take your own beloved pet to the crematorium yourself! What a crappy end to a crappy day... read more

While I hesitate to go into details about my animal, I'm afraid this review will go into the 'not recommended' pile if I don't indulge in a little wistful explanation. Last year my cat came down with a sudden respiratory illness at the age of 6 years. After arriving at my vets office, he quickly decompensated and had to be euthanized. This was extremely sudden, tragic, and it was just god-awful to have to see that massive degree of suffering in my beloved friend. I think some of us are more attached to our animals than others. I got the oh-my-lord-thats-so-terrible reaction from some people and the jeez-it-just-a-cat from others. Having gotten to know David from a place that he worked prior to opening the crematorium, I know that my animal was treated with the respect, kindness, and dignity that he deserved. read more

I am so thankful for this compassionate, reasonably priced service. The loss of a pet is a difficult time, and never seems to come at a convenient time. David, the owner, has gone out of his way to help us on several occasions. From our first encounter, I knew this was a labor of love for David and Laura. Several years ago our first feisty little ferret, Alfredo, after a short bout with insulinoma, suddenly passed away at home. We were completely unprepared for this loss, and my daughter was devastated. I am so thankful we found Rest Assured. David returned my call within 20 minutes, and made sure that someone met us at the facility after hours to allow us to hand off our small furry family member. Even though it was after hours, they ensured we had plenty of time to say "good bye." Alfredo was returned to us in a tasteful tin along with a memorable note. Both are in a special place amidst candles on an antique buffet in our living room. Our next experience was surely asking too much of anyone when we discovered our 14-year-old, outdoorsy, adventurous cat, Sam, had crawled under the back deck to die. David genuinely treated us as a family member. He came over after dusk, crawled 15 feet on his belly to gently retrieve our beloved Sam. We decided Sam would best be cremated and forever roam their ranch. Last year, (ferret #2) Harvey's health quickly declined after an intestinal blockage from a bout of play twists and leaps with his buddy, Lou (ferret #3). Rest Assured did a complementary pick up from the vet's office. We already knew Harvey was in good hands. Our 4 1/2 year-old ferret, Lou, is in kidney failure and we are doing intensive end of life care at home. He is deaf and has won strength contests in the annual Ferret Agility Trials (thus the name, Lou Ferrigno). He is silly and so very dear to us, and will be taken from our family far too soon. It could be days or months...depending on his fight, but we are comforted to know that Rest Assured is a phone call away. From our first experience, we have recommended Rest Assured to other pet owners who have faced pet deaths due to illnesses, accidents, and old age, and wanted to honor their furry family member. We have only heard stories of gratefulness and comfort during a most difficult time. We highly recommend David and company. read more

Our family rescues disabled animals and we are blessed to have each one. Unfortunately, their illnesses may give them only a short time with us and others a long time. We have used Rest Assured for every one that has passed to Rainbow Bridge. The care they give us and our animals is so tender and sincere, from the moment we leave our animal in their hands to when we pick them up to bring them home. After a veterinarian helped my beloved cat with euthanasia at-home, I chose to take her body to them directly rather than have the vet deliver her. I was terribly sad, of course, after saying good-bye to my dear friend of 16 years. And, unfortunately, when I went in, the experience was very shallow and lacked compassion. I get it that these people do this every day, but that was my cat, her sweet little furry body that I was handing over to complete strangers for a process that is difficult to think about to say the least. These people need to take a minute to remember who these beautiful beings were to us and to our hearts. And, they need to take a few steps to be more professional and provide compassionate customer service. I have written them a letter and hope they improve. If you do use their services, I would encourage you to not go in person. read more

When the worst happens, you would at least expect a call back. Our pet passed away early Saturday morning and we called to try to arrange cremation. We left messages on their main line and both "urgent" phones and didn't receive a call back until Monday morning. When they called on Monday, I told them I had to make other arrangements for obvious reasons, she said, "We're closed on the weekends." and hung up on me. This literally happened a minute ago and I am furious at the lack of professionalism and compassion. I would never recommend them to anyone. I wish I could give no stars. read more

In April 2016 my beloved 13-year-old greyhound Ursala succumbed to old age and I had her cremated.I did not deal with Rest Assured directly; my veterinarian handled the details, and Ursala's remains were returned to the vet for me in a beautiful container with a sweet, thoughtful note. I have used another pet cremation service before, and Rest Assured was a cut above.I have an 18-year-old diabetic cat, Annie, who will probably be with me only another year or two before she makes the journey to Kitty Kat Lane, where the sun always shines and the mice are slow and fat. Please think twice before using this company. Recently when my beautiful rottie-mix of 12 years had liver failure my vet (who was fantastic) came to my home to humanely euthanize him. As my vet does not take the animals after they pass, I needed a company to pick him up for cremation. I initially contacted Rest Assured to do this service. The owner of Rest Assured was very rude and I was treated like my dying dog was an inconvenience to him. He also promised to call back "shortly" to confirm a time and then neglected to do that. My vet appointment was quickly approaching so I called their second listed number hoping the next person I got would be more compassionate - she wasn't. I got his wife (business partner) and when I told her that her partner was pretty short with me and didn't call back as promised she told me, "oh he's just having a bad day and you're just going to have to keep calling!" He's having a bad day??!! Seriously??? I've never used a service like this before and was in a panic as I absolutely did not want them touching my beloved pet but didn't know where to turn at that point. I got on-line and thank goodness found If Puppies and Kittens Had Wishes. The owner was extremely compassionate, patient and everything you could possibly want when going through such a horrific loss. I am so glad that Rest Assured is not the only cremation company out there. read more
