Since then, I've made quite a few friends and found it to be a warm and caring community. (You know, like all good churches should be?) UUCH is just such a good church. :-) You'll likely be comfortable whether you are Christian by faith (like Reverend Frank), or an atheist like me. The church services make an effort to include everyone that is seeking truth and love and meaning. Oh, and they put on a really good coffee hour each week!

The church does great service in the community - from serviing a twice monthly hot meal to the homeless, to social justice educational movies and talks on Friday nights, and outreach in so many ways. I just hopped on my phone to look up what time the service was at because I haven't been in a few…read moreweeks and I clicked on the yelp link which brought me here. Couldn't believe some of the reviews I just read so I decided to post. I have been going here on and off for the past 2-3 yrs. When I was at one of the lowest points of my life they lifted me up. Always a smiling face and a helping hand whenever I enter the bldg. They genuinely care and if I asked any of them for help they'd be there guaranteed. I remember when I first joined the November before the pandemic, I volunteered downtown to help feed the homeless for Thanksgiving. I ended up making small talk and I remember telling one gentleman the real reason I was there: that my heart had been broken into a million pieces and I'd been betrayed. I nonchalantly told him that he could find me in the back of the church because I'd be the one with tears in my eyes. I said it with a nonchalant laugh just blowing it off but he saw right through that. He told me that if I ever need to talk or want to meet up that he would love to. That his wife was a counselor and although he was an engineer that he is always there to talk. It wasn't planned. He didn't have to do it or care at all. But he genuinely did and I will never forget that. I never took him up on his offer I guess because I'm a bit shy but that is the type of person who goes to ONE Church. They care. They really care. And the new pastor there is amazing! Pastor Mike Goff really struck a note with me. Pastor Bo is decent but he is usually in Bedford and that is where I prefer him to be. You need a deep connection to your pastor and when Pastor Mike came I felt that. I'm from Mass and he's from Fall River so I love how raw and funny he is! I highly recommend this church and I feel sad to read any negative reviews. Especially the one that I just read saying that the church doesn't accept LGBTQ. That's an outright lie. In no way shape or form are they like this. This church tells you one thing every service: 'No matter what you've done or what's been done to you', they accept you and embrace you into their church. Those words alone should touch your heart. Acceptance and Love. That is what this church is and I hope that you'll give them a shot because I'm so glad I did

This church played a very large role in the destruction of my relationship with my Mother many…read moreyears ago. They got involved in a very private family matter that they had no businesses being part of. I had nightmares for years from what the former church leaders said and did to me. For decades now I have made many desperate attempts to get my Mom back in my life. This church and some of the people in it have always come first and her family has come last. We have been tossed aside, abandoned, neglected, and forgotten so she can put all of her time, energy, and resources into this church. She even had them burn my beloved piano in a bonfire at this church. And yet no one saw a problem with that?! She has a woman who she has been living with her since shortly after I fled her house. This woman is controlling, manipulative, and abusive. She has had free room and board along with lavish vacations for decades all on my Mother's expense. Many people in this church also have been taking advantage of my Mother's generosity and blind allegiance to this church by enjoying free vacations at my Grandfather's Cape Cod properties. Meanwhile, her children and grandchildren are completely forgotten and ignored. She has abandoned us and despite my attempts to get help from the pastor and multiple people in the congregation, everyone keeps turning a blind eye to this. Many outsiders have witnessed the control and abuse by her "roommate" but no one in the church believes us. They just want to keep benefiting off of my elderly mother and my grandfather's inheritance that he trusted her to be in charge of. There is nothing Christian about abandoning your family and rejecting your own grandchildren. She plays the victim and has told lies about me and what really happened in order to excuse her neglect and soothe her conscience but everyone outside this church sees what is really going on. This church caused this issue with my Mom so many years ago and they have a duty and responsibility to help fix it. This is my last desperate attempt to save my Mother. I only pray that some of the Christians around her listen and help me.
