I don't typically review churches since religion is controversial without commentary. However,…read moreafter visiting and engaging in several fellowships over the past 20+ years of living in North Carolina, Watershed has found a home in my heart since 2011. Why? They don't pretend to have all the answers and they are comfortable with a God who is at times mysterious, frustrating, and hidden. Matt and Scott (co-pastors) share speaking duties and have remarkably crafted a relationship with God, their families, and each other that is transparent and void of internal competition. I like that. I rarely come away from their talks without something in which to wrestle. I take comfort in knowing I am both loved by God and encouraged to drop anchor and fish this spot I'm in a little longer. When I slow down, I've discovered it is there I might feel the tug on my line and hope there is something bigger on the other end (pardon the fishing metaphor). Watershed provides a platform for this to happen for me.

The Covid era truly revealed the heart of the big "C" Church. My family and I moved to North…read moreCarolina just about a month before the lockdowns began. As a Christ-centered family seeking a church home, we found it extremely difficult to locate a church that remained open despite mandates and the growing hostility toward the Church. Freedom House was recommended to us, and after attending one Sunday, we were deeply moved by the overwhelming warmth and genuine hospitality. We've been faithful members ever since--going on five years now. We are so grateful to be planted in a church that stands on sound doctrine, boldly serves the community, and is unafraid to take a firm stance on critical Kingdom issues--especially in a time when such convictions are often met with resistance. Freedom House is unapologetically pro-life and vocal on many cultural matters where the Church is called to be a light. One of the things I personally appreciate is the tremendous commitment Freedom House has to our youth. It's incredibly encouraging to see intentional investment in the next generation. It also brings me great joy to witness people of all races, backgrounds, and walks of life worshiping and serving together--as one body with many members--united in Christ. When certain groups or individuals come against Freedom House or our Senior Pastors, it only reaffirms for me that we are standing on the right side of biblical truth. Freedom House is more than a church--it's home.

I have traveled all over the world and attended many Masses, and listened to many cantors. She is easily the best cantor I have ever heard. You will swear you are listening to a Broadway soprano lead actress. I once asked her where she studied or if she was a professional and she said she worked in a warehouse and never was formally trained. That alone is a miracle. Go there just to hear her sing.
