I believe in the area of obtaining medical assistance/care whether at a hospital or supporting entities, all we can expect is best effort which in most cases is bare minimum. It's truly sad when you are met with dry, surly inconsistent reception from staff. When individuals seek out facilities like these it is a cry for help with your physical and mental wellbeing. Why should I believe I am able to get better service from a fast food restaurant than a medical facility that I have placed the total care of myself or loved ones. I believe the entire staff should require weekly if not daily sensitivity training reinforced with a performance management regimen. I am not blaming the warm body that was hired to fill a slot. I blame leadership for hiring and allowing this less than substandard behavior. In other words, 'you are only as good as your leadership team.' If an employee respects their leadership and has been trained properly, they would never put them (and the organization) in a bad light. I am now expanding my search for a more suitable facility. It should be a calling for those that wish to work in the field of patient care and not simply a paycheck. Whether you realize it or not, one day you too will require the care of a health center...rehab, nursing, hospital or other. read more

I had the misfortune of spending 2 months at this facility. Answers the call light only to come in and turn it off, then wait 2 hours to see a nurse. It was the worse experience of my lifetime and luckily, I got out alive. There is no nursing care at this "Nursing Center". And let me tell you about the food. Go anywhere but not here. read more

Very disappointed with this facility. We had very high hopes as a rehab patient, but learned very quickly, short staffed, don't care much about patient unless you are on skilled nursing side. My father fell twice here, both times were due to neglect of center, yet they blame the patient. They do not check on patients regularly. Call buttons pushed constantly, which go unnoticed for half an hour or more, due to staff issues, or staff being " on break." TV was an issue from day one, we actually ended up getting a brand new tv installed since maintenance even couldn't understand the issues. That took over a week. Coffee in lobby was a perk for guests, but it never worked. Don't advertise such if you don't offer it. Ridiculous not that hard to figure out. Only one nurse actually seemed to try to make things better, her name was Shannon. Others are rude, just medicate patients and care less about vitals. There was one medical assistant we called "T" who seemed to really care about patients. She was one of the only who did. But others leave rehab patients in bed, not dressed for hours unless family is present and pushing for patient assistance. No continuity with rehab and the white boards in patients room are rarely updated with date or staff attending to patient. NEVER saw the physician Dr Guidot in 6 weeks! But boy did we get a lot of bills from her. Family sat in this facility for 10 hours a day at times. The NP on duty was kind named Katie, but overwhelmed. She never had clear answers for family. The wound care company was good enough, but nursing didn't do much to maintain from week to week. With a patient laying in bed so long, it's no wonder wound care was compromised. THEY caused a 3RD wound because patient laid in bed constantly. UNACCEPTABLE Food actually wasn't horrible. But never hot since it sat in hallways until the team decided to hand out. Items were always missing off tray we ordered. The change of dignity underclothing was once a day, and always in the wrong size. The claim was that's all they had for the patient. REALLY? Have different sizes it's not a one size fits all type thing! Bottom line, social work and discharge planning are not as on top of things as they should be. We knew of discharge for 2 weeks yet we were rushing last minute to get things set up clearly due to their incompetence. Unacceptable and unprofessional- period. Overall, I don't know that any other place would be better, but this place was so highly recommended we had high hopes, those hopes were deflated very quickly. So my recommendation would be realize insurance is paying for most care, they are making a lot of money off patients, will very little care. Find another place. read more

Not a good place to leave your loved ones for an extended amount of time. They have a big staff turn over. That's because they are lazy.

I would totally NOT recommend bringing any loved one heeds that is not 100% lucId or have 100% mental ability to speak up and care for themselves- under staffed and the workers are exhausted and thus don't care or can't keep up. Many complainted about there working conditions and lousy pay/treatment. Rooms are old and dated, toilets clog constantly, long wait times in meds and long wait times 30-60++ minutes when pushing the call button for help. Sometimes they would come in, silence the call button. Said "I'll be right back" never to show up again. The treating physicians were ok if you could catch them- little to no family contact from Physicians or staff. No rehab is great, but I would TOTALLY skip this one unless you can 100% speak and care for yourself! read more

West Bloomfield rehab and nursing center is an awesome nursing center. My love one has had the best care since she was admitted. I am truly happy with the staff. This place is short staffed. The staff are nice but not particularly knowledgeable. I agree with a previous review that unless the patient can advocate for themselves, it is not the place to be. During the Covid-19 pandemic, they would not provide any information to families about the number of cases in the home. After my father contracted Covid-19 and passed away, They did not reach out at all to express their sorrow or ask what they could do to help. Good nursing homes are hard to find. My advice is to look elsewhere. This place is living on their past reviews but is not the same anymore. read more

My mother lived here from July until her passing at the end of February. The staff treated her with kindness, compassion and respect throughout her stay. If anything changed in her condition at all, they would call and notify me immediately. The facility is very nice, loved spending time with mom in the courtyard during good weather. The ladies in the recreation department were wonderful and always tried to encourage my mom to join them in Bingo. During her decline, the staff who cared for her would come to the other area of the building she was moved to to visit with her. My mother was a joy and they took such good care of her. I am so very grateful for the staff from the receptionists to the cleaning staff for making her stay as pleasant as it could be. They are angels on earth!! read more

My family and i entered West Bloomfield Nursing & Convalescent Center to visit my 94yr old grandfather . We found him sitting in a wheelchair directly in front of the nurses station. He was moaning, visibly trying to shift his body in pain. He had a grossly distended & hard abdomen approximately 5-6 inches above normal. We were met with hostility from the nurses and were told that there was no dr on call. I would never send anyone there and I have filled a report with their licencing agency. I had to request all treatment and demand that an ambulance was called. it was a nightmare. read more

Admitted to this establish because of recommendation from hospital. Had debilitating stroke. At the time, was unable to speak for my rights. Nurses as well as assistants would take hours to answer call light. Paralyzed I needed help with everything. I fell out of my bed multiple times. Was left on floor, for almost 4 hours. I was able to see clock. Window was open, could hear nurses and assistance outside my window, talking about patients. Finally after screaming for help, a visitor saw me laying on floor. He tried to find help, not one person at nursing station. Luckily , I wasn't able to use bathroom in my filthy room. I was never bathed. They transferred me out of facility, never notified my family. I had a black eye, sprained wrist, as well as broken ribs. After being transferred by ambulance to a new facility, alone, I was unable to give my history, or why I was there. West Bloomfield never gave them report. I'm a nurse, I have told other Drs. to never recommend patients to go there read more

The Employees can make or break a company. Beaumont Affiliated Rehab provided rehabilitation services for my mom after a stroke. For the record, no one will ever take care of your love ones exactly like you think they should but this place surely makes the effort. We had some issues and complaints initially but they were quickly resolved and we NEVER had those issues again. The administrator was great. He never sugar coated anything or tried to make excuses, he just made sure the issue was expediously resolved. My mother adores Mona, Ciara and Keyonna they treated her with dignity and respect. She trusted that they would do what they were supposed with care and love. Ciara and Keyonna are two very responsible, caring and loving young ladies. They were very empathetic, gentle and patient with my mother rather I was there or not. I never met Mona because she worked midnights but my mother praised the care, patience and laughs she provided for her. Tiffany is another excellent proactive employee, she did everything with a smile. Even with the some of the issues and concerns I initially had with this facility. The physical and occupational therapy was outstanding!!!! Mohamed and Obie are very positive and will help your loved one and the family during this transition. I visited my mother everyday and assisted when I could. Overall, they took really good care of my mother and they were very understanding. "I don't think there are any perfect rehab facilities" but this one is close. I am strong customer service advocate and I would recommend this place. read more

TERRIBLE!!! They don't care about the patients. Their staff are lazy and inconsiderate. It took over an hour to get nausea medication and something for constipation. Then.. my uncle, who has Alzheimer's, needed a bath. He kept telling them no i dont want a bath i wanna go home. So they were going to give in until i jumped in. When that was finally over, the manager asked me to wheel him over in front of the nurse's station. I told them that he's falling asleep and to please watch him so he doesnt fall out of his wheel chair. Did they listen?? NO. HE FELL OUT OF HIS CHAIR AND BROKE HIS NOSE!!! My 81 year old mother is being moved today because of abuse and a needle left in her room I would not recommend this facility to anyone on top of the needle left in her room she was treated badly by the nurses and aids I do believe that the therapy she was getting is very good, but they don't care about the people that are in there they are rude, and just want the people in their to just shut up. A Variance report is being reported. I am burning mad right now because my mother kept telling me they were abusing her, and when you are there with your loved one they are all sparkles, and agree with everything the person says, but now I do believe my mom and I will never not believe her again. this place is horrible overpriced fancy, she is now going to oakrige manor I toured the facility not fancy but the people in there are happy, and they told me this is a premier facility, not like the fancy smancy facility in bloomfield hills I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone. read more
