This was the first time that I had been to Werribee so I'm not really all that familiar with the place. So, I basically picked a random coffee shop to go and grab some breakfast, and it turned out to be this one. Well, this actually ended up being a pretty decent place to grab a bite to eat. The service was pretty good, it wasn't too pricey, and the breakfast, and the pot of tea, turned out to be pretty good. Nice choice for a random pick. read more

I was hungry for lunch so I looked around town, I saw my regular but it was closed so I saw chatterbox. I sat down and looked at the menu. I ordered the cheessburger and pork fries. When they both got here (very quickly by the way). I was shocked. The pork fries were absolutely delicious and is my favourite thing on the menu, I bit into the juicy burger, that was also amazing. The juices were also amazing. I looked to my left and saw someone eating the mixed grill and it was absolutely massive. Overall, this is my new favourite cafe in the whole of Australia! read more

Love this place. Looks quiet. But it's a hive of activity. Good is amazing. Staff are quick and efficient.

My visits to the Chatterbox have been pleasant. The food is tasty and imaginative. Some added flare to the standard cafe menu items makes this place stand out . Lovely fruit packed sweet bread instead of the 'out of the pack' supermarket stuff, homemade rosti hashbrowns, sides serves of homemade relish etc. The servings are generous and made with great, fresh ingredients. The cafe is a good size with plenty of seating. Great if you have a group of more than than the stock standard four people. There is a semi private area at the back which would be ideal if you're a particularly large group. The coffee is good, the staff friendly, the environment pleasant and the food yummy! A pretty combination which results in a great cafe in my book. read more

Open at 5am most days and busy by 6. The young and friendly staff will have a chat, ask you how your day is going and the locals that hang out here all know each other. Warm and cosy with seating for 2 or 10 there is a drive in the owner to make sure you get what you want, when you want it. Simple but comfortable décor and plenty of room to spread out and enjoy a coffee or 5. Now the food... Bring a friend.... Or 2. You will need to share the portions. Of course you will find the usual suspects on the menu but it is well presented, well cooked and quick. Again, light snack is going to be a word that is used too much. Seating outside for the smoker among you, plenty of tables inside also. Having just arrived at 5.30 and watching the takeaway crowds come and go, the regulars shuffle in and park up for the morning, you can see that the owner is really trying to make your morning easier and he is succeeding. Chatterbox cafe, definitely can facilitate a lot of good chatters. Good location with lots of street parking, lots of seatings, quick and friendly staff and lots of delicious items on their menu. I visited for a cup of coffee and chai latte, so my review is based mainly on that. No experience yet with the food. I say yet because I am planning to come back another time to try their menu when I can. I am pleased that their chai and coffee are delicious and also surprisingly pleased that our bill came to $7.50. I have been slammed before with close to $5 a cup of coffee so I can't help but feel that there is good value to be had here. In their cabinet I see some delicious cake offerings and I did find their lunch menu to have a good variety. Seems to be a fave with the locals so it's thumbs up for me. read more

I stopped in Werribee at random; I was driving to the Great Ocean Road with my parents and it was lunchtime, so in we went. And the Chatterbox was the first spot we saw, so in we went. It was a weekday, and the place was very busy with the work lunch crowd. It was very loud, not just because of all the patrons, but also because of the mounted TVs blaring away (I wonder if they feel compelled to make the place noisy because of their name?). There are a lot of servers on the floor, all whirling around full-tilt boogie. It feels like an old-time diner that way, with girls and ladies all buzzing about fussing over people. Service was both friendly and efficient. The menu was broad; the food was quite tasty and very generous in proportion. It all felt diner-y. In a good way. It's a big place, with lots of seating 'way down the back. There's only one unisex toilet, though, so you might need to queue. read more

I went to the Chatterbox for lunch around 12pm and ordered The Frenchie. French toast with vanilla ice cream, honey comb and chocolate brioche. A stunning meal. Very very yummy and I was very satisfied after eating The Frenchie. I also had a mixed berry smoothie. Very very yummy and not too sweet. As soon as I walked into this warm and inviting cafe I could see why it is so popular with the locals. The staff are efficient and friendly. This morning I ordered a bacon and egg toasted sandwich and a skinny cappuccino. The cappuccino was served at a drinkable temperature and the bacon and egg sandwich was cooked to perfection. This has now become my favourite cafe in Werribee, I'll definitely be going back regularly. read more
