Everything was okay until we decided to change platforms and move to a different organization to…read moremanage our DAF. We are now going on almost 2 months of back and forth trying to get our funds transferred to our new DAF organization. We submitted a closure request on 3/10/2026. There is typically a ~ 2 week delay with grant requests to allow for LOA's to be signed and financial assets to be transferred between Wealth Management team and AEF. All of this was completed on 3/31/2026. Now we are being told that accounting is working on finalizing the closure of account transfer and it's taking longer due to a recent blackout period (which actually ended on 4/5/2026....5 WEEKS AGO!). Our wealth management team and I have made multiple calls trying to reach resolution, and AEF will not provide a contact in accounting because "that department does not talk to customers", and will only tell us "we are escalating your request and will call you back". I've spoken with 5 different individuals, and the only one to actually make good on his promise to call me back was Rob, and it was to tell me "he was escalating it to management", but at least he called back. No one else has taken the time. We aren't talking about $25 Facebook donations, these are significant assets that are used to support multiple 501(c)3 organizations, and American Endowment seems to have zero sense of urgency in releasing funds that aren't theirs to begin with. If you are looking for a customer service oriented organization to manage your DAF look somewhere else.
