Quick Review - Auto body shop in downtown Mocksville…read more- Been around for years - They do very high quality work - Prices are fair - They are in high demand, which does impact your ability to get a hold of them - Sign on the door states "Open when I get here". Classic. - When they started the work, they got my truck out relatively fast - Very satisfied with my experience here Advanced Collision and Auto Repair has been around for a few years. I'm shocked this business was not already on Yelp. Oh well, I got them added now. So I am driving down a country road going about 45 miles per hour around dusk and a deer decided to cross the road right as I was coming through. This doe was hauling ass and never attempted to stop or slow down. It all happened so fast and there was not anytime to react. So the end results is Tim's F150 1, Doe 0. That deer bounced right off my truck hitting the front and driver's side. The damage was relatively minimal compared to hitting a deer with a car. I have had a car totaled once due to a deer collision. My F150 did have damage to the grill, left headlight assemble, front fender and small dent in the driver's side door. It didn't look that bad and the truck was still drivable. Built Ford tough baby! Still, anytime you get body work done, it costs a lot more than you would expect. Insurance claim required. Billy at Advanced Collision worked with my insurance company and the process was smooth. Quality of work was very high. Very satisfied and would highly recommend.

I took a 1969 Camaro to Josh Richardson in March 2024. The car was to be stripped down, body work…read moreand painted Silver on Black. In the process, I decided to do an LS motor swap and replace all interior in which was not discussed in March when I dripped the car off with Josh. During this process, Josh NEVER once stated that he could not or did not want to take care of the add ons. I paid Josh money multiple times during this restoration period. I never received a Build Sheet like I was told that I would, Red Flag #1 I paid Josh cash money and wrote checks in his personal name, Red Flag #2. I had no problem paying cash in the beginning thinking my car was being done correctly but boy was I fooled. To make a 15 month long story short, I paid Richardson Rod & Custom $80k+ in cash and personal checks to the owner Josh Richardson not to mention the extra money I spent out of pocket on parts myself. My car had SO MANY corrections to be made to it because of the horrendous effort put forth in the work before hand. Josh assured me that all the problems that I brought to his attention would be taken care of and corrected as though it was never visible or noticeable. When Josh informs me that my car is complete, I pick it up and it is the furtherest from complete that it can be. Keep in mind, I have been giving Josh money hand over fist for 15 months at this point. He tells me that I need to pay him the remaining balance of $6,400.00 5 wks before my car is So Called completed, Red Flag #3. His excuse for asking for the remaining balance before my car is completed, is because he needs to close out the month. Keep in mind, I have not received my car and would not receive it for another 5 wks in which it looked like garbage. The hood and the front fenders are two different colors of Black. My trim was powder coated and then later ruined by placing yellow tape all over it and then pulled the powder coat finish off when the tape was removed. The car has been looked at by multiple body shops while coming to the conclusion that the paint on the car has all but been buffed off in areas by Josh Richardson. All stated to me that they would be embarrassed to let a car leave their shop in the condition that my car is at this time. After letting Josh Richardson know what I have been told by other paint professionals, he pretty much says they are ALL wrong and he is the only one who dies not agree with their assessment. I could go on for days about the way my car looks after what Josh Richardson calls a $25k paint job. His excuse to why my car looks as though it does is because he says I did not pay for show quality paint. Yea, that has been a laughable joke in everyone's eyes who has knowledge of the situation. In my opinion, it's not $2,500 paint job much less a $25k paint job. I paid for Burn In marks in the clear coat, trash in the paint, all powder coated trim destroyed by yellow paint tape being removed from it, Extremely Thin paint in most areas and not to mention all the compound left all over the car. Like I said before, I could go on for days about the work performed by Richardson's Rod & Custom on my '69 Camaro. I hope this helps someone else from being RAILROADED in the future. FYI, I have Plenty of Photos and Videos available of the work done on my car if that eases your mind before making the same mistake I did! I would NOT recommend Anyone to this establishment unless you do not value your money, your time or your vehicle!
