Well I eventually closed this loan 8 days after expected. Its been 3 weeks and I am still waiting for my original documents to be returned as promised...multiple voice mails w/o response. I did get a decent rate and that will serve me a long time...but I will NEVER use them again. read more

had difficulty after difficulty during the closing process because of the wells fargo loan officer. He didn't read papers given to him in time, never communicated with the seller's side, or real estate or insurance company or tital personell. He held up the closing over a week because of his non communications. totally unacceptable. It's not as if selling/closing homes is a brand new event. Wish I would had read the other reviews for this branch. Well where do I begging? Started back in Oct of last year, we had enough of renting and wanted to buy a house. At the time my wife worked at Wells Fargo, been an employee you could get discounts at closing and better options, plus, she knew the Home Consultant so we felt that we would get screwed that bad. So! the pre approval was a breeze we got pre in less than a month so if we applied in Oct 2015 Nov 2015 we where pre approved. All went well, we took long in finding the right home for us being that we are using a VA loan and for that type of lone the house has to meet certain requirements making it hard to find the right home. Ok we found the home we liked and right for the price at around Feb or so. Started the process in getting fully approved, We had some hiccups from eh sellers being that they where getting divorced and they where not ready to completely have a green light from their lawyers to sign for the sell (Small detail that the real state agent forgot to mention, but that is another review soon) No big deal, we had enough time to closing and Mortgage agent and I where looking to close in May or June, for me that was great being that our rent contract was going to up by the end of June. All moving along May comes around Mortgage agent (MA) says hey we may be closing this month, I told him to hold being that I couldn't break the lease without getting penalized. MA says ok no problem we wait till June. June comes around I call MA and he tells me that the documentation is with the VA underwriter and they are reviewing, no problem I thought MA is telling me that it will take a week and by the second week of June we would be go to go to close by the end of June. End of June arrives I call the MA to see where we are at and he tells me that the case it is still with the VA underwriter, I ask him who has the case in the VA (Being that I work for the VA) he doesn't give any name. No big deal, I place a few emails and a couple of phone calls and come to find out the VA give Wells Fargo and some other major bank free ride when it comes to the underwriter part, that they don't have to check the underwriting, so in short VA has nothing to do with the underwriting part. So I call back the MA and you can start hearing the back pedaling in his voice saying that it was the Wells Fargo VA underwriter that had the case. At this point we are at June 20, June 21, June 22 nothing. I write emails and make calls and keep getting the same answer. July come around and luck that the home owner we where renting give us 9 day more. July 1, 2 3 nothing, at this point we are I'm talking to Branch manager and supervisor. I came across the email for the Wells Fargo Governing Board on the 8th of July, 2016, this is the last stop when thing has really gone wrong. I get in touch with Executive Resolution Specialist Customer Care and Recovery Group (CCRG) This man get things done! I explain to him all the problem we are having, my economic situation and where we at with the loan. He called me every day, checking in and asking were we where at with the application. This call maid all the difference, Loan got expedited all got approved and where are closing on the 25 of July, 2016, over 3 weeks over the estimated time. Now where we are, after talking to the CCRG we are in titled for some compensation (Not 100% on that but something) after spending over 3 grand in truck rental and hotel bills we are completely taped out, we had spend all of our savings and some of my retirement money, we are close to our dream home.
