A cozy little country store tucked along a lonely highway, serving up a surprisingly delicious menu that I was skeptical in trying but glad I did. There's a wide variety of options, and after trying several items, it's safe to say this spot deserves some love. Here's what we ordered: * Kids Chicken Rounds with Fries - these were enjoyable even for adults. Plenty for 2 little kiddos to share * Crispy Chicken Strips - Honestly better than what you'd get at most fast food spots. * Bacon Mushroom Burger with Swiss Cheese - Plentiful, juicy, and downright delicious. It had that homemade backyard cookout flavor that hits the spot. * Pizza Combo (Pepperoni & Sausage) - Warm, crispy crust with the perfect amount of toppings. * 12 Wings (Half Buffalo / Half Hot Honey) - Both flavors were absolute fire . No complaints here. Paired perfectly with a 2-liter of Mug Root Beer. * Meat Eaters Cold Sub - Fuggedaboutit! This sandwich put the 'deli' in delicious. The pickin's are slim in Wittmann for a meal, of which I found out on a work field trip. The USPS across the street from Wells is closed for lunch during the week and when I arrived it was coincidentally during that time... so lunch from Wells Country Store it was! It's a small hometown store that's got a little bit of everything - groceries, hardware, water refill, space for food trucks, and a nice hot deli in the back. Everyone working there was super kind - wasn't sure what I wanted to eat that was "field trip friendly" and the cook suggested a quesadilla. Didn't take long for her to cook it up and she threw in some homemade green chili sauce which I was able to try upon my return to the office. That and a cold drink from the cooler was about $10 which you can't beat anymore. read more

Today I decided to take a trip to the town of Wittmann to see if there was anything interesting. News flash, there's not. EXCEPT this little store. Inside they have the typical convenience store things BUT IN THE BACK they have a little restaurant. I ordered 6 wings on the mild side cause, I can't handle too much flavor. Thanks mom and dad, for that. Got home and DEVOURED the wings. I dont know what kind of chicken they are using but, I hope they never change it. I forgot to take a pic of the wings but trust me, they were pretty and they were delicious. Best of all they were priced at a reasonable amount. Definitely will be getting more food here. Both the woman working at the store and the woman working the restaurant were so nice too! Should definitely make this a regular stopping place for when youre traveling the 60. read more

We love the pizza, bought two for a familly get together recently. They have great breakfast burritos as well.

We called to put in a pick up order. The lady (Aricella - I believe) was SO RUDE!!! She kept interrupting us while ordering, speaking very crassly because we didn't order the way she wanted us to. We would tell her "cheeseburger and try to say no tomatoes..." with fries and so on. We'd said that we wanted fries (again) with each burger (would've been 5 burgers w/fries). The lady snapped at us AGAIN because we did not order our food the way she preferred. We don't know how she takes orders. When we go out, we order one meal at a time. Finally, we said, "Never mind; we will go somewhere else." She hung up. We did go up there to speak to the owner (not there). The lady (Aricella??) was there and remained rude and wouldn't even stop interrupting so that we could explain what happened. She continued saying that (in summary) we weren't ordering the way SHE takes orders. How are we supposed to know how she takes orders? The entire situation was a hot, rude mess with very poor customer service. We will NEVER go there again!! Previously, we had experienced the same poor customer service but thought we would try again, as everyone is entitled to a bad day. Nope...She wasn't having a bad day before. Nice little store for a bit of everything you could need including snack items, hardware items for working around your house or yard. The staff are also very nice. The kitchen is good also had a great bacon cheeseburger and onion rings . Honestly think it was better than an In n Out burger. read more

Terrible. It's a shame i have to drive 20 minutes into town because they can't clean their store. There's mold everywhere (mainly in fridges), the cashiers are either talking to their friends while they're supposed to be ringing you out or they're literally fighting with each other over the price of something IM GETTING. read more
