Back when I used to do a lot of crafting work, Wellmanson was the place where I could get everything I need. If you see hordes of women (of all ages) disappear in Villalobos Street in Quiapo, they're most likely all there at Wellmanson, shopping their hearts away. It's quite a big store hidden by all the palengke vendors lined up on the street, so you might not notice it. It's much like a mini-department store for crafters, with salesladies even in uniformed short skirts. Most importantly, it's air-conditioned! So if you want to take a break from the Quiapo heat and drown into an oblivion of beads and whatnot...
Wellmanson is the place to be if you make accessories and jewelry, because they have so much variety: beads, chains, strings, charms, pendants. It's not only a raw materials type of store. If you don't make them, you can actually buy a lot of ready-to-wear accessories here too, at really cheap prices. I particularly love their selection of novelty rings at super cheap, below Php100 prices!
They are also a gift shop filled with odds and ends that I can't even begin to describe here. The variety is just too diverse. This is a great place to do your holiday shopping.
In the past year or so, they've even expanded to include.. Guess what? A waiting area for the tired husbands and boyfriends, patiently waiting for their queens to finish their hoarding. But they do not wait in vain, mind you, because Wellmanson has found a way to monetize from these waiting fellas by putting up a mini snack bar full of food and refreshments for sale. And of course, wi-fi! How clever.
The downside about this place is that their cashier system is quite stuck in the old ages. No barcodes to be found here, but instead, you'll have to line up twice: first, you have to have someone count and compute your items, then the second line is for payment. read more
