Not quite sure how to describe the Wellensteyn brand as it compares to those outside of its homeland Germany. Different than say Northface, Columbia, MountainGear, or Marmot. The products seem to be well made, slim fitting but not overly fashion forward (not enough to alienate older consumers anyway. All possess high-usability (hard wearing water repelling materials, down or man-made insulation, speciality pockets for digital phones, ear buds, etc.), and each offer a decent warranty. Like much of the higher end outdoor apparel industry, they seem to have an item for every out-in-nature activity imaginable. Hiking, motorbiking, skiing, river rafting, jogging, fly-fishing, etc., I purchased the mens "Wellington" jacket. Products aside, the website, navigability and interior design of the shops, even the logo stand out against most U.S. brands. Just wish they had these in the States! Overall, I've been impressed with Wellensteyn. read more
