Melia Sevilla Hotel is a great hotel option when you are staying in Sevilla,Spain. The back of the…read morebeautiful España Plaza is literally on the corner across the street. It was very convenient to take in the sights of the Espana Plaza. Other sites and restaurants are anywhere from a one to fifteen minutes walk away depending on what your interests are. The breakfast in the hotel is awesome as there are many options to choose from hot/cold options, various breads/pastries and various fruits/vegetables. The only disappointment we experienced at the Melia Sevilla Hotel was in the onsite restaurant, Quimera for dinner. Although the food is very good, their spontaneous appetizer option was offered in a forced payment manner. The first visit for dinner we were served croquettes by a waiter as a complimentary appetizer and we said we ordered croquettes, he stated these are complimentary. However, on the bill there was a $7.50 charge for 3 small croquettes that we did not request as we had placed an order of croquettes as part of our dinner option in which we received six in the dinner order. Ok, you thought we would have learned our lesson and we did. On our second visit for dinner, another friend joined us who accepted a piece of bread, but the three of us from the previous visit stated we didn't want bread as we ordered dinner options that included bread "chicken and waffles"...which are by the way very good. Again when the bill came, we were charged $10.00 as if each person received bread although only one person accepted "a" piece of bread from the waiter. We could understand if they placed a bread basket on the table with enough bread for each person to charge each person for bread "provided." But NO, they have a RIDICULOUS policy that if one person receives one piece of bread from the waiter, they charge the entire party for a piece of bread. We are so grateful that our fourth guest refused the "FORCED APPETIZER" due to the waiter literally plopping the appetizer onto the table without us asking for it and describing it as spicy which our guest does not like. Therefore, the waiter retrieved the appetizer from the table and no additional fee was charged this time as the rest of the party also refused the "FORCED APPETIZERS." Unfortunately, on our last evening in town, we declined to dine in the Quimera restaurant onsite which based on the lateness of the day would have been convenient and we dined elsewhere in the city.

This hotel made our Sevilla trip an unforgettable one. Location: It could not be more centrally located. I love being 10 minutes walking from the the busiest parts of the city -- like the Cathedral area -- but also close to more local and less touristy neighborhoods like Alfalfa and Feria. The hotel is in a street that isn't very busy, so we felt tucked in the whole time from the moment we stepped inside the lobby and were welcomed by their incredible staff. Speaking of staff -- everyone was so welcoming and friendly. The treatment was up there with some luxury hotels we've stayed at. Honestly, I can't say enough amazing things about those working at this hotel. From leaving bottles of water in our car for our drive to cleaning our room at 9 PM because housekeeping accidentally forgot one day -- they went above and beyond with their actions to ensure we felt taken care of. The hotel itself is just gorgeous. It felt like the set of an Andalusian movie. The courtyard, the plants, the subtle touches everywhere; it was one of the most beautiful properties we've had the privilege of staying at. The bed was comfortable, the bathrooms were modern, and their non-cookie-cutter decor made for an incredible first impression. Parking was a breeze -- they charged €24 a day, which is fair for valet parking. Parking garages nearby charge more. I would gladly pay for this again.

We stayed in a very comfortable 1 bedroom apartment on c/ San Luis owned by Sevilla 5. The…read moreapartment was *exactly* as represented online - always a huge plus - and was very spacious. The large living room included a coffee table and large sofa, a small dining table with four chairs, ample storage (a huge closet), a television (admittedly, we never watched it so I'm not sure what the selection was like), and two french doors that opened onto the street. The well-sized kitchen came stocked with plates, bowls, silverware, basic pots and pans, and included a reliable dishwasher and washing machine (one hangs one's clothes on the roof to dry). The bedroom was cozy and the plus was that it faced an interior courtyard and so was very quiet. The apartment also came with reliable wifi, and a/c and heating (though you pay for the electricity when you leave at the rate of .20Euros per kilowatt used). The location was also absolutely fantastic; since we were staying nearly three months in Sevilla, we wanted to be a bit removed from Barrio Santa Cruz, and to live someplace more neighborhoody. C/San Luis was ideal - a few minutes walk to the Alameda de Hercules, hundreds of restaurants within a ten minute walk (including the fantastic Contenedor right down the street), easy to get to Santa Justa train station for trips, a taxi stand at the top of the street, and an easy walk to all of Sevilla's main cultural sights. As for the company itself: a Sevilla 5 employee met us exactly when he said he would on the day we arrived in Sevilla, and he showed us around the apartment and left us with a key. We were a bit jet lagged so couldn't really soak in all the information and it was only after he left that I realized I had forgotten to ask a few questions (like, where do we throw away our trash?) He was always very accessible by email and phone, though I thought a basic informational document in the apartment might be useful. Similarly, the closet in the living room had lots of great stuff - a warm blanket for cooler nights, extra towels, a fan, a comforter - but not always in the most easily accessible way. A comprehensive list might make it easier for future guests to know what's around. The only other inconvenience is that you have to pay in cash (Euros) for your full stay in the apartment upon arrival. In short: we really enjoyed the apartment; it was very comfortable for three months, the price was very reasonable (much cheaper than our much smaller 1BR in Washington DC), and the location couldn't be beat. We were a bit nervous about renting with Sevilla5 because we couldn't find that many reviews online and one never knows if the pictures on a website will correspond to reality - but this was EXACTLY as represented, and exceeded our expectations.

Ana (see photo) who greeted us and checked us in was a rock star - kind, informative, enthusiastic about Seville, and set the tone for a perfect, albeit too short, stay. Danny (see photo) was also fantastic -- also welcoming, obviously loves his job, and added to our great experience. There was also a lovely fellow that took the luggage to the room and unfortunately, I don't recall his name. I want to make sure I recognize him for also being excellent in terms of service and being a warm, welcoming fellow. The Jr suite was fantastic. Wonderful in every way. Stocked mini bar. Great coffee. Comfortable bed. Nice lounging area with big television. The shower had a bathtub with lots of hot water and was just really laid out very well. The terrace was a nice addition as well, although it was very hot so we did not spend much time there. Elevators were quick and the room was extremely clean and good value! This is a first class hotel and should definitely be on your need to stay here list when you get to Seville. Thanks to the great staff for taking good care of us!

The location is just perfect, located right in the middle of a busy street filled with restaurants/taverns and a very short walk to this town's wonderful attractions! We made many friends while staying at this hostel, some we still stay in contact with and have visited us in the states! The staff is friendly (well, most of them). One girl kept "shushing" us one night even though we weren't even very loud. We asked some of the hostel guests the morning after to see if we were loud and every one said they didn't hear anything from us. Anyway, whatever. They have nightly paella dinners for 5 euros and also unlimited sangria for 5 euros more. It's a great way to socialize with the other guests here too! We also did the free walking tour, which was really cool. So much history in this town! The beau and I had the private room with a double bed on the top floor so we didn't really have any issues with noise, other than being next to the roof top patio where we could hear people hanging out but it wasn't bother us. There are two bathrooms on our floor and both were very clean. The room itself was also very clean. There's an A/C unit in there if it ever gets too hot. Kitchen usage was simple, we cooked breakfast one night, just went down to the convenience store down the stairs and bought some groceries. Some of the restaurants are too expensive for what they serve, so just go to the store and buy some food and save some money! There are plenty of lounging areas in this hostel, so check them out! The roof top patio is absolutely gorgeous and a perfect place to hang out, relax, chill or whatever. During the day you can hear all the hustle and bustle of the restaurants down below.
