Interning here made me believe it was okay for your superior to disrespect you, and make you feel anxious / uncomfortable the entire time you're in their presence. You have to be on eggshells around Dr.xu or shell yell at you or degrade you. My second week she asked me if I was blind or deaf because I didnt know how to do something due to a lapse in training. For future interns, there are physcians that will treat their medical assistants with respect and actually fuel a conductive learning environment. The physicians I work for now were appalled when I told them about my experience here and the administrator advised me to call the California medical and labor boards. None of the medical assistants have their certification although they are very nice. She kept me for two weeks working on calling new referrals and doing procedures I had zero expirience doing and once I made a dent in the paperwork she got rid of me and she never paid me for any of it. Dr.xu makes her uncertified medical assistants prep patient charts before procedures which one time lead to a patient getting a a cytoscopy while she had an infection potentially upping the risk to push the bacteria/infection further up the patients urethra. A patient had their bladder irrigated after a surgical procedure by an unqualified medical assistant, I have never seen someone in so much pain. The medical assistant always said "dont tell the doctor!" When something went wrong because they are literally afraid of her due to the way she speaks to them. The office is filled with unorganized paperwork all over the place,The doctor brings her dog to work and as a result the back office smells heavily of dog urine. There was often a full waiting room (I never saw it even get sanitized) despite covid being a risk to her often elderly patients. Dr.xu is almost always late causing very long wait times. If you can go somewhere else I advise it. If not make sure you ask questions about the qualifications of whose caring for you, what they're doing to you, and why they are doing it. This was what I experienced my first time working as a medical assistant and I contemplated sharing the experience for quite some time but now that I work for a group of fantastic suergons I recognize no one should have to go through such an experience and the practice at this clinic could definitely do harm to their patients. read more

The receptionist was amazing during my appointment there. The receptionist name was named Liz and she was so helpful and kind when I was nervous about going here. She gave me the warmest welcome and gave me some pie as I waited for the MD and the most rainiest days in California. She was wonderful and very friendly and professional. read more

Dr Xu office is very clean professional. I just started going to Dr Xu's office a few months ago and I only had to wait a fee minutes each time to be put in a room. I need to get a surgery procedure and the nurse and Dr Xu made my appointment in just a few weeks to get it done and make sure to get my ossue takin care of. Dr XU is a very good Urologist. Every procedure I have ever had in her office was done in a professional manner, the staff was great, friendly, & makes you feel at ease however awkward the treatment is. Sometimes the wait for her to enter the room to see you lasts a spell, but it is because she doesn't rush the visit, covers all the information you need, and makes sure you understand everything about your issues. It was my first consultation with Dr Xu, my appointment was at 1 pm I got there exactly at 12 the waiting room was empty. I checked in at the front desk. I sat there for over an hour , then a few minutes after pm a guy popped his in and asked me to give a urine sample. I went inside the bathroom, OMG! I couldn't stand the smell of the urine in there! There was no toilet seat cover, the bathroom was tiny and filthy. I had to use toilet paper for toilet seat. Then I was taken to a smell room. The room was filthy finger prints all over the cabinets the counter was messy and dirty. It was a room from the 60s/70s! Ugly! Then I waited there until exactly 2:40! The guy came in there more than 3 times apologizing that the doctor was late, but no explanation why?! When I asked why I was told that their medical assistant had to leave and they're running behind! When I was the only patient there. The rooms and the hallway was so tiny I went out there all the rooms were empty starting at 2 pm other parents started to come in! At 2:20 I asked the front desk if the doctor is too busy I rather come in another day because I was in pain not feeling well and I was starving! He said the physicians assistant is speaking to the doctor about me and she'll be right in. I was being told that since 1:45! Then finally comes in the so called doctor! Her hair was all over the place her breath smelled she had dirty scrubs on. She told me "I'm sorry I am late, then she lied & said we were having trouble checking YOU in" AS IF I WAS THE PROBLEM! when the front desk had told me something else ! And one other guy in the office told me another lie! Then she started yawning not covering her mouth! You could totally tell that she was a sleep and had just woken up! Her eyes were red! Then after yawning she just kept on staring at me! I looked at her line ok are u going to say anything type of look, I think she got the point. Then she asked me who is she with you? I had taken my mom with me. It was irrelevant question for her to ask me! Anyways, I answered. Then she just looked at my chart and said so you're here for this and this. She named 2 things from my chart. I said yes, I also am suffering from this ... then she just shut me up by saying I don't know why you're have this issue then again started to stare at me finally I was like ok I tried to tell her my previous doctor had put me on special diet and try to find out why and tried to understand my symptoms she just kept on shutting me up and telling me ok I'll give you this and this test. Then she diagnosed me with something stupid w/o any test or more info from me.! She spent with me 5 minutes then I was sent to the front desk she did not say goodbye or anything she just left! At the front desk I started speaking to the front desk guy he was printing up papers for me then this vicious woman reached out from behind me and showed a pice of paper from far away and asked questions from the guy that I was having a conversation with and that same guy that I had told that I can't stay here any longer because I was hungry and that I had been there since 12 pm the same guy just cut off our conversation and got up started speaking to the lady behind me. All without apologizing to me or asking me to please wait! So I waited patiently thinking that he will stop at some point or she will stop asking questions at some point, but no their conversation continued! Then after 3 minutes or more I was like that's it! I'm out of here! If the lady was illiterate enough rude enough to not know her turn or wait her turn at least the front desk guy should've known better that it was my turn I had been there since 12 he could've just asked the other lady nicely to please wait her turn! Anyways, I will never go back to that crapy place where no one knows the rules and regulations of a doctors office or the morals of a doctors office! Obviously they weren't educated people! They all looked like they were off of the streets! At least I know that that's where they all belong and not at a doctors office not even the so called doctor herself!!! Please do not waste your time with this doctor at this office!!! I wish the system would allow me to give a zero stars for this place! read more

Just returned from bringing my mom to Dr. Weiwei... My Mom was in tears, this Doctor is so rude, and very rough. My Mom is 89 years old, and didn't deserve the treatment she was given, after waiting two hours long, then rushed her exam. She was treated very unprofessionally by this Doctor... Although her nurse was very nice ... Also, the office carpets were so horribly dirty... Wish I could of given a rating of Zero stars.... read more

Don't go here. I'm still sitting in the doctor's office writing this review. I came here for a 9am appt at 8:30am and yet to see the doctor at 10:45am. The staff is rude when asked why the doctor is not here. They lied that they told me that I was already told about this on the phone whereas I was clearly not. If I could give her zero stars I would. My mom suffered for years with kidney stones. She was always in the ER room. They finally referred her to Dr XU Wei Wei. We were so thankful to get help. Sadly we received everything but that. She saw my mom many times . Each time she scheduled a surgery. She did three laser surgeries on my mom and still didn't know what was wrong. Finally the 4th time I said if you don't know what's wrong send my mom somewhere they would know. Her response was "anywhere I take you will have to wait 6 plus months" I told her I didn't care as long as my mom got help. Which she was sent to Ucsf for help. Since Dr XU procedures were pointless. After a year my mother is in perfect condition thank you to Ucsf!! DR Wei Wei called us to come back and we will never go back! Ever! If anyone needs help go to Ucsf! Not her she just wants your insurance and $$. But doesn't care about the patient. Sadly my mom and I had to go through this and I hope no one else does. read more

I might have testicular cancer. It's been a high and low ride were I feel I'm gonna die due to people's stupidity. I first looked up reviews of Wei Wei Xu, and yep, 2 stars. I was on high alert for her B.s. but I guess I was lucky. I called in Thursday at 2. "Tony" picked up the phone, right off the back I could hear it in "Tony's" voice he would rather be out sipping Margaritas and getting his nails done than to help. He half assed asked me for my info, then puts me on hold. 5 minutes. 10 minutes. 20 Minutes. 35 Minutes. Then I physically hear someone pick up the phone and hang it up. So I call back 4 times. Finally "Tony" picks up and says the Doc "had a emergency, just call tomorrow." Well I've been waiting 2 weeks in pain, whats one more day right? Well no. Called the next day. "Tony" picks up the phone. I give him my info. He then tells me to call back Monday since Wei Wei is out today. I try to reason with him, I just need appointment to get seen cause- He stops me and say Wei Wei needs to read my case and maybe If she decides to help me she will help me. So I called my insurance Alameda Allieance, and put in a formal complaint were I was also directed towards the healthboard. read more

I'm not giving this any type of star rating.(if there is a zero star, then that's what Dr. Xu deserves). I would schedule for an early appoint as soon as the office opens, which is 8:30a and I ended up waiting until 9:15a before, I got called into a room. I then informed the nurse that I needed to leave and they need to reschedule me, she insisted that I wait and she would go get Dr. Xu. When she came into the room, she told me my issue and said for me to keep taking the medicine she had given me samples of. Upon exiting the room, I spoke with the nurse at the front desk, who informed me that they would call my prescription in to the pharmacy. I told her which pharmacy I used and left thinking they would call the prescription in. That was a week ago today. I'm still waiting for them to call in the prescription in. I've tried calling Dr. Xu's office only to get her voicemail box over and over again. I've left several messages and no one has returned my calls from any one on her staff. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. I would not recommend her to anyone, EVER!!! read more

My mom has been suffering a lot these past couple of years. She has gone doctor to doctor, hospital to hospital, yet she remains in the same pain. But Dr. Xu has been to attentive and nurturing to my mother, thanks to her my mom has improved tremendously. read more

If I could give her ZERO stars I would. She was very rude did not fully explain anything and when she did she had a very bad attitude. I can honestly say she was the worst Doctor I've ever met I felt like I could not ask questions about my health or the surgical procedures she planned without getting a rude response. There should be no reasons why asking questions in regards to your health should be a bad thing, I am certainly glad I switched to a doctor who has no problem explaining everything to me in detail. read more

Dr Xu has been my Urologist for the last 6 months. She is a wonderful doctor. She takes the time to "listen" and understand my symptoms and concerns. Clearly, being a good doctor is a blend of science and art, especially in Urology where causes and symptoms are not always clear. Dr Xu has the right balance. I would highly recommend her. I came to Dr. Xu after spending months in emergency rooms and seeing countless Doctors with no answer to what was causing me so much pain. I went in expecting to get the same answer that all the other doctors gave me, " I don't know." but after a few visits she gave me a diagnoses. Now about 4 months later my pain is gotten so much better and manageable thanks to her and her staff. I never have to wait a long time to be seen and Dr Xu takes the time to listen and give her feedback. I was not to sure if I liked her at first, but I am so grateful and blessed to have her and her staff in my life. Love her staff they are super sweet ladies and always on top of things. Dr W. Xu has improved the quality of my life in two major ways. Due to the nature of Dr Xu's work as a urologist, I cannot be too explicite in my descriptions. Suffice it to say that I can now sleep undisturbed through out the night. Secondly, I can now experience physical intimacy with my spouse as we used to in the first 20 years of our marriage. Dr Xu is an excellent listener and practitioner. Additionally, Dr Xu's new and experienced staff are professional and personable. read more

I wish I could give Dr. Xu zero stars. She is the rudest, most unprofessional doctor I have ever seen in my life. My endocrinologist referred me to her as it seemed I had developed some sort of urinary issue due to a medication I was on, Invokana, which increases the amount of glucose in your urine. I took the pre-appointment blood tests, and went to see Dr. Xu. She looked at my results and told me I didn't have an infection, did a quick physical exam and said I didn't have a yeast infection. She literally stood there and said, "I don't know what you have." Um, isn't that her job -- to figure out what I have. But she stood there like I was supposed to just accept being in pain because she said so. I asked her if we could do additional tests since I was in pain, and she reluctantly scheduled them (telling me the whole time, "these won't show anything"). Next day I had a kidney ultrasound (not by her). Meanwhile, my endocrinologist (who is amazing) called me to check in and basically I said Dr. Wu doesn't know what's going on, and I was still in pain. So my endocrinologist called Dr. Wu to get an update. Apparently, that was the worst thing you can do to Dr. Wu. She had a freakin' cow. She proceeded to call me and berate me on the phone, telling me that apparently her "diagnosis" (remember, she said she has no idea what's happening with me) wasn't good enough for me. I was stunned. I told her I had talked with my endocrinologist when she called me to check up on me and I was unaware she in turn was going to call her. Her reply, "Uh huh." She then proceeded to tell me to have my endocrinologist get in touch with UCSF to consult with them instead and she then told me that she was canceling the other test she had scheduled. Yes, she stopped treating me because she was mad that my endocrinologist called her. I guess that angered her so much that she stopped even caring if she gave me any medical care at all. So much for the Hippocratic Oath, eh? I am in the process of reporting her to the California medical board. She is quite frankly the worst doctor I have ever dealt with in the nearly 50 years I've been alive. The fact that she's allowed to treat patients in this country is astounding.
