We are very grateful we found this practice, they are the best!!! I am a first time mom and when my son was 2 weeks old we had sleeping problems and I say we because non of could get more than an hour or two hours of sleep until he was six months (colic until 4 months). Since I found doc Dan Weissbluth and read "healthy sleep habits happy child" we finally started sleeping all night...it really works! He used to take two naps for 30 min then when he was 5 months old almost six Doc Dan said "5pm bed time until naps got better", no naps after 4pm and morning nap should be with in 90min after wake up time! Now he is 14 months goes to bed at 6:30pm, wakes up at around 6:30am and takes 2 one hour naps, sometimes longer! He is as happy and healthy as he can be! He is very sensitive and that is why we try to keep him on a schedule, when we miss naps here an there his schedule moves and Dr Dan is very helpful on those times. As a first mom and not having family around Weissbluth pediatrics has been a great support, nurses are always nice and always call to check on my son every time I call to ask for advice. We really appreciate all they do for our family!!! read more

Dr Dan and the entire staff at Weissbluth Pediatrics are phenomenal! When I call with questions they are professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. When I call for a same day sick appointment they are compassionate and get me in right away! Dr Dan remembers our little ones like a small town doctor would (the kind you see in movies and hope for!) We had issues with sleeping. Could not get on a good schedule. Everyone was exhausted. I switched to Weissbluth Pediatrics when my baby was 8 months old. I was having some serious sleep issues and I had been recommended to Dr. Dan by a few friends who said he was the best. I went to a new mom's support group that is open to the public on Thursday afternoons, I was the only one there pretty much and he was so helpful. He really gave some great advice and I knew then that I wanted to switch over. The staff is so friendly and the nurses are great answering all my questions as a new mom! They call back after a day or two to check in if my daughter wasn't feeling good to see how things are going. They have awesome hours---weekends!!! I'm so happy I chose them to take care of my daughter. Peace of mind knowing she's in good hands! Oh and also.... the office is so cute, clean and well kept--nice to have for sure. read more

I drive 50 miles round trip to bring my kids to see Dr. Weissbluth. He is amazing with kids of all ages. I have three that range between 3 and 14. Dr. Weissbluth is thorough with his exams and very knowledgable about pediatric medicine, including sleep issues (hallelujah!). Their waiting area is so warm and welcoming, my daughter actually loves visiting their offices. Parking is super easy. They are always flexible and available - 7 days a week! We travel overseas a lot and Dr Weissbluth has always made himself accessible through Skype, email or phone which is amazing considering few practices that I know of will do so. I recently moved from Henderson, NV to Chicago and had to take my 5 year old for her kindergarten well check up so I came to Yelp for help. Weissbluth is truly rated 5 stars for many reasons. We had an issue with my insurance and their staff tried multiple times to work with them. Although I ended up paying out of pocket I was pleased they didn't give up after the first or second time. We've been with Dr Dan since before he even started this practice and have always had a great experience with everyone at this practice. The doctors and nurses are always responsive and very available whether through the patient portal, the phone or quickly scheduled appointments. I love that you can book appointments, message the doctors, pay bills, etc all online. The office is welcoming, clean and fun for the kids. The location is very convenient. Most of all, Dr Dan's sleep methods REALLY WORK! The proof is in the pudding - both of our children were sleeping through the night (12+ hours!) since about 3 months of age. We met Dr. Dan the day after our son was born almost three years ago. From the moment we met him my husband and I knew he was the perfect doctor for our son. Dr. Dan is not only a fantastic Doctor, he is friendly, caring, kind, funny and most of all an outstanding doctor that actually listens to his patients and cares about them. Our son is our first born child so of course I was a nervous mom in the beginning but Dr. Dan and his excellent staff never made me uncomfortable for calling too much or for asking tons of questions. Wonderful practice and pediatricians. Their practice is unique to any other practice as they offer Skype and house calls. We saw Dr. Dan right after our son was born, and Dr. Paul before we left. Our son was in great condition, but I most appreciate their concerns for me and my recovery. This practice is also a huge supporter of breastfeeding. We had Dr. Dan at a different practice when my oldest was born more than 5 years ago. He was very nice and patient and we liked him. However, when my son started having some medical problems, I felt he wasn't experienced enough to give us good advice. I also found out he wasn't board certified then (only board eligible). We switched to a different doctor with more experience after a year of seeing him. Last fall the practice we were at didn't take our new insurance policy. After doing some research and seeing how great Yelp reviews are, we gave Weissbluth Pediatrics a try. I was disappointed at the doctor (Dr. Tim). Again, he was nice and patient, but just didn't have the experience and feels like he's reciting the books he read. Wasn't really helpful. The reason I am writing this review is that this practice is very irresponsible in communicating. They didn't send a reminder about an appointment we had today. That's ok. I called twice to confirm (because the first time they told me the wrong date). What makes me mad is that they called one hour before our appointment to tell me they don't accept our insurance. Couldn't they call few days beforehand? If the practice changed policy, wouldn't it be nice to let patients know they don't accept certain insurance? Never got a notification. Because of their carelessness, we either have to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket or find a difference office in very short time. How can they treat patients like this? read more

I love this practice! I met with Amelia before I had my baby and she was very informative on what to expect and recommended we read two books before our baby arrived. When I had my baby at Prentice, doctors from this practice came to check the baby. Our first appointment was with Amelia and then we met consistently with Asha. I really like them both. They were happy to answer all of our questions and they explained what they were doing which checking our daughter. We typically arrive early and we are taken to a room right away. There really isn't much of a wait. They also are not in a rush to get you out of the room, so if you need to nurse, they will let you do that. The nurses are fabulous. They are kind and if we call them with questions, they are great. My husband and I contemplated going to one of the practices at Northwestern, but none were as great. While having a good doctor is critical, I think that their nurses and other staff much also be great - this practice is made up of friendly and knowledgable folks folks! Love love love. We've been meaning to review this group for years now and I'm finally getting around to it... My husband and I are both physicians so we can be a little picky (this might also help explain why it took so long to post this), but we recommend this practice to anyone who asks. They are more accesible than any other group I've run into. Their staff is kind and great with kids. It's super super easy to get in to see someone- their walk in hours 7 days a week is unheard of and awesome. They call within a few days to check in on your child after an acute (sick) appointment- what great service. They really care! Personally, I LOVE Dr. Dan's focus on healthy sleep habits. This is something that's important to our family and having someone with experience guide you through this is invaluable (especially in that first year). Our kids are great sleepers, and I can't imagine it's not at least in some part due to their help. I love that he partners with Lurie. No one ever wants to think their child will need specialized care or admission to the hospital. With Weissbluth, though, should that happen, it's easier for our pediatrician to be up to date and have access to any other care that's necessary. If our child needs any of that, we want it to be at a top children's hospital like Lurie. As a physician I can say the care is excellent. As importantly, their bedside manner is even better. Dr. Dan was my daughter's doctor from the day she was born (we started with them just months after he opened his practice). She needed a quick trip to the NICU and he called me in my hospital room to explain everything that was happening before the nurse or NICU staff even had a chance to come talk to me. He gave me his cell and told me the NICU team was taking over, but he'd keep on top of it and I could call him whenever and he would do his best to answer questions or let me know what was going on. I can't even express how much that meant to me. It was such a compassionate way to handle the situation and treat not only his patient but her parents as well and went well beyond the call of duty. I can't say enough about this practice. Dr. Dan puts his heart into everything that happens here, and you can tell. We (children included!) are incredibly happy with their group. read more

All of the doctors we have met there have been amazing! After our son was born, Dr. Dan came to examine our baby in the hospital, and answered all of our questions. Whenever we had a concern, the office was able to see our son (the office is open 7 days a week and has designated walk-in hours). The doctors respond to e-mailed questions and concerns in a timely manner, as well. We have never had to wait in the waiting room more than a few minutes to be shown into a room, minimizing any risk of disease from other sick children, and whenever we have had to wait to be seen, we have been offered coffee or water. In addition, the office is conveniently located downtown on Michigan Avenue within walking distance of public transportation. read more

My daughter received treatment 15 months ago and they just sent me a bill. It took them that long to get organized enough to send it to me and their excuse was it just took them that long to get organized. It is shocking to get a bill from a pediatrician OVER A YEAR after you received treatment. Also, it was submitted to my insurance back in April and May of 2018 so it was not my insurance providers fault. I don't recommend this business. read more

This place may look good from outside and cutting edge on technology, but the lack of professionalism from Dr Weissbluth and his staff is unacceptable. Staff is very young and immature which leads to gossiping about you and your family in the office...which then leads to mistreatment of your child. They charge you for everything too. This is hands down, the best group of doctors I have had the pleasure to go to. The practice is structured around complete access and ease of mind for parents. The staff are super-friendly and the doctors are all very knowledgeable and considerate. They have pediatricians on-call 24/7. As a new parent, I find this highly reassuring. I've called at 4 am and was put directly in touch with Dr. Weissbluth who answered all my questions and reassured me. There was no B.S. automated system or anything (as many of you can find irritating). Even during the day, I've called into the practice to ask questions about my newborn and again, no automated system, I spoke directly to a nurse or pediatrician who answered all my questions. I love how Dr. Weissbluth's practice is setup. They have walk-in hours everyday in the morning so any concerns I've had about my newborn, I was able to see a pediatrician the very next day. They are also open on Saturdays and validate parking which is a big plus in Chicago. They also have "free" weekly information sessions where parents can come in and ask any and all questions and Dr. Weissbluth is there to personally answer them. My wife and I just came back from a session and we loved it and learned a lot. They also will do home-visits as well, which I love. I can't rave about how much we love this practice and how much of our stress has gone down since we've gone to this practice. You can tell how much these doctors love their work and love taking care of children. My son (who cries a lot) has never acted up or cried when we go to the doctor's office. The atmosphere is always warm and friendly. I can't thank Dr. Weissbluth or his staff enough for always being there for our family. We chose Dr. Dan as our son's pediatrician because we liked his progressive attitude toward his practice, use of new technology, his personality and expertise in children's sleep habits. Our son is now three years old, and we're certain it was the right decision. Accessible & convenient: Open 7 days a week; early evening hours; some appointments can be done over the phone; will communicate via email; and the patient portal contains all our records & allows you to schedule appointments online. Staff: Everyone in the office from the doctors to the people at the front desk are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and clearly love children. Responsive - I've always gotten a same day response from Dr. Dan, a live person to talk with when I call, and immediate access to a nurse when I've had a question. Sleep expertise: I was struggling with transitioning my child to a crib and fewer night feedings. Implementing Dr. Dan's advice was hard, but resolved the issues in literally 3 days. read more

I would never recommend this practice for sick children. My daughter exhibiting flu symptoms,in the height of the flu season so I immediately scheduled the appointment knowing the seriousness. My child has been seen twice at this practice, once by a nurse practitioner and more recently a doctor. First the receptionist tried to force the nurse practitioner and I refused since the doctor had availability. The nurse demanded my daughter to remove shoes and jacket to walk down a cold hallway barefoot. My daughter had a 101 degree fever and Dr. Kim refused to write a prescription for the flu stating we completed a strep culture test and you can follow up in 48 hours. Dr. Kim was no help and frustrating to deal with. Needless to say we left the practice and went to a new pediatrician thirty minutes later and she was diagnosed with the Flu and prescribed tamiflu. My child's life could have been jeopardized had I not chosen to seek a better medical professional and practice. 48 hours is too long to save a child's life! read more

Everyone always compliments me on my super happy and engaging child and tells me what a lucky woman I am to have such a great sleeper. Dr. Dan is the reason for all of these things! Our son was born 7 weeks premature and Dr. Dan helped my husband and I (scared first time parents with a preemie) through every stage. He is friendly, reassuring, non-judgemental and extremely available to help with anything that comes up. He always remembers us (even in the hallway) and is kind and gentle with my son. He never makes me feel stupid for asking basic questions and is very encouraging. I have recommended him to friends and will continue to do so. Do you love your pediatrician? You should. Seriously, I wish there were more stars to "award". We were so impressed with Dr.Weissbluths office. We are in Chicago temporarily and needed a Pediatrician for our 4 month olds shots. My husband searched on Yelp for recommendations and found Dr. Weissbluth. I called to make an appointment and they could get us in within the week. The best part was that it was Saturday! I really wanted my husband to be there with me to get her shots and since they are open 7 days a week, he could be! Open 7days and does house calls!?!? Unheard of today! We have since referred to Dr. Weissbluth as a young old-fashioned doctor. Aside from his 7days-a-week gig; he's written a couple of apps full of guidance for parents, has appeared on a news show since we met him, has introduced a parent support group at his office, and has personally responded to my inquiry requesting a recommendation to a doctor for myself, at 9pm on Tuesday...When does this man sleep? Pretty sure that he doesn't which is ironic because he's the local authority on sleep for children. Dr. Weissbluth...I know you're reading this...adults need to sleep at some point too! Everyone in the office was wonderful. Dr Weissbluth conducted our daughters exam while she was on her daddy's lap which was great! No crying, no separation anxiety to deal with, certainly no cold examination table! They also have their online "patient portal", where we registered her before we got there, no paperwork to fill out; all of which was a welcome change from our standard doctors office back home. We'll certainly miss Dr.Weissbluths office when we go back to California. We highly recommend Dr.Weissbluth for all of the reasons I mentioned and the fact that he also has a lovely bedside manner. The whole office has a general feeling of "people caring about people", what more could you want from a doctors office? Especially when it comes to your babies! Just went in for my twins 9 month visit. Wow! The new office is beautiful and the service was wonderful! Dr. Dan even called later that day with some specialist referrals. I have been seeing Dr. Dan since my first child was born in 2010. He is a caring, thoughtful and skilled physician who had my daughter sleeping solidly through the night by six months old. Our daughter wasn't sleeping through the night at 3 months old. Since Dr. Dan specializes in advising parents on baby's sleeping, and Dr. Dan was already our family pediatrician, we scheduled a sleep consultation over the phone. Dr. Dan told us several rules/guidelines to write down and follow. He told us that if we did everything he suggested, that our daughter would be sleeping through the night within 5 days. We started that very day. Not only did our daughter sleep through the night that night, but she has done so every night since then. She is now 6 months old, and we have not had to go into her room one time at night. She has slept through the night every single night. Dr. Dan is a terrific pediatrician and his knowledge about sleep is for real. We believe! read more
