Our family visited on the last day of our trip and it was the PERFECT place to go. The cozy, romantic ambiance was perfect and the food was even better! I grew up with my Mom's German (Schwäbisch) cooking and this is the best I've ever had other than hers. The Maultaschen was so good! She makes it the same way (even with the browned butter on top). The potato & cucumber salad was just right. And the Spätzle was home made and so delicious. We tried a half dozen or so other places and wish I had tried this first because I wouldn't have gone anywhere else.

The roast beef is fork tender and the ravioli is delicious!

I'm on the fence between 3 & 4 stars. Service ok. Food is decent, nothing mind blowing but groups…read moreseem to like it so come for average Italian food. I was happy they had spicy chili oil! Service can Take awhile as they easily get preoccupied.

This is what you dream of when thinking of a nice (romantic or not) dinner in a real Italian…read morerestaurant. The bartender is Italian, speaks italian, the place is elegant, cozy, the lights are dimmed, candles on the table. The menu is appealing, there are lots of wines by the glass and the atmosphere is good. Italian music but modern. Loud but not too much. Very good bread and oil. For the main part of the meal we were delighted. Great *I mean GREAT* Vitello Tonatto, very nice carpaccio (the salad could have been better spiced), fantastic spaghetti "in the wheel of parmiggiano" with truffles (but summer truffles, tasteless, so sadly topped with some "truffle" oil, a mediocre product). But let's be fair, the spaghetti was to die for !! Ravioli Porcini in a cream sauce, very good too. The meat, a piece of beef sliced at the table, was just hot when I started but due to the cold plate it was served on, became to cold very early in my jaw-destroying process. Nice steamed cooked vegetables. The desserts were average but this and the truffle oil is really what makes the difference between the 5* I intended and the 4* I finally opted for. Weird also that they didn't offer anything to a table of 2 who had two aperitifs, two glasses of white and a bottle of red, water, 2 starters, 2 pasta, 2 main courses and 2 desserts. C'mon... But a very nice place indeed.

I was invited here by a local who grew up in Stuttgart. As it was my first time in the city center…read moreof stuttgart, it was nice to be taken here as, I would have no clue this place existed. It's located at the edge of the city centre in a very quiet neighborhood. They have plenty of seating inside and a gorgeous outdoor terrace, where we ended up as, it was a beautiful evening. The menu is modern German and the menu card is handwritten and hard to read, well it was for me. There are classic Schwabian dishes alongside some Alpine dishes and, a small selection of dishes from across Germany. It was balanced between fish and meat with a few vegetarian options. The wine list was also reasonable with a good selection of local wines and wines from around Europe. I chose the sashimi starter (the only non German item on the menu) and really enjoyed it. It was good quality tuna sliced thick and just seared for a few seconds on both sides. For main I had the Rinderwürfel, beef cubes in a creamy mushroom and herb sauce and it was very nice. The dessert was ok nothing special. Prices are a bit on the higher side but the quality is good. The service was nice and our waitress was very efficient and friendly but equally very German (say only what is absolutely necessary with a smile lol). I liked her but I can imagine some people will struggle with that. The older lady who owns the place came around later and chatted with us as did the chef. We enjoyed a couple of really nice wines and all in all it was an experience I would happily repeat again.

A nice spot on Mozartplatz in Süd…read more I'd recommend reservations but they're usually willing to find a spot for you if they can -- it's German wine bar seating with tables that seat 8 or so and you share them. Friendly service with a mix of regional Schwäbisch dishes and apparently an Italian accent. Good regional wine selection with some international wines. Pricing is a little on the high end with main dishes from €15 to €23.
