I was fortunate to have tasted their full range of wines with the winemaker and toured their historic cellar. The wines were stunning and the 2010 Kallstadter Saumagen Riesling Kabinett Trocken was my favorite that I tasted. The wine has a beautiful balance of elegance and richness. It has great minerality and is full-bodied with bright acidity. This wine is just a glimpse of the fabulous treats this winery has to offer. I've even found Koehler-Ruprecht on some local restaurant wine lists in San Diego and, needless to say, I don't hesitate to order it. Such a great experience, such great wines!

He also delivers to a number of better quality hotels so it was worth driving down. Weißburgunder is a nice everyday wine at EUR8.40. Also bought some Sauvignon Blanc at EUR10.00 well worth the price. Did not get into the reds but others have comented in the Deutsch reviews. They have a comfortable tasting area, large enough for a crowd, open 10:00-16:00 Mon-Sat. Worth a side trip.

It's been making wine since 1744 and has 21 hectares of organic certified estate. It's a traditional winery with small number of staff and makes mostly white and dessert wine. I was invited here for a wine tasting evening and the owner of the winery was on hand for the evening. They had put out their entire lineup of white wines and dessert wines. There was plenty of German Tapas on hand to go with the wine. I loved their Weißburgunder and Sekt. I also really liked the dessert wines here. They have some really top class Riesling and Weißburgunder very typical of this area. All in all a fabulous evening and one that I hope to repeat it soon :-)
