Wein Depot is filled with a thoughtful array of wines from the continent ranging from affordable (10 CHF) to 'holy cow' expensive. Although, if one buys a case, then that shaves off a bit of the price tag. The hubs and I have not yet taken the plunge, but feel compelled to as ours is the only wine cellar yet with nothing in it.
If one would like to sample a wine, then WD will happily oblige. They've a tasting station that runs down the center of the shop and is quite user friendly. There's one particular chap who not only knows wine well, but communicates about it an easy-to-follow way. Da wird auch Englisch gesprochen. So, English speakers living up on the hill in Kreis 8 have no fear and come on down to WD.
Wein Depot also sells a small variety of beers from a local brewery called Monsteiner Huusbier, to a monk brew a la Belgium, there's a smattering of Italian beer, and, an old English fave, London Pride.
The hubs recently purchased a gorgeous, ten-year tawny port for 32 CHF, and a very drinkable prosecco for around 10 CHF.
