Parking isn't great but that can be overlooked because no matter how busy this place gets, I seem to be in and out in a respectable amount of time. Great selection of products to, they really seem to take into consideration what the customers want. Go into many local grocery stores and you get depressed looking staff and little customer service. We had dinner there on Wednesday after a long road trip. It's always a great place to stop to grab a quick bite to eat because everyone can find something they like. This Wegmans isn't as nice as the one in Rochester of course, but it has most everything that you would want. Does the manager even care? Self-service terminals continue to fail on a regular basis. I'm not even using a coupon, but after scanning the first item, the terminal says that the coupon box is full and will not let me continue. Maybe the manager should make a trip to the Oakton Giant Food store. They have more self serve terminals, each one gives you space for three bags instead of just one, and someone is continually watching to see that everything is going right. read more

Bakery dept: this bakery is all about costumer service. I can't recall all the wonderful people but this time Amy was the best. Wegman's is FANTASTIC for specialty foods. The first time I went there, I spent 1 1/2 hrs there and never made it past the deli and prepared foods section. I was in such awe of the selection of different foods/baked goods they had available. I wish there was one closer to where I live! read more

I really really want to like this place, but the few times I have been here, it's always chaotic and stressful. The minute I step in the store, panic sets in. There are way too many people and I don't know what it is, but space always seems to be an issue. Even if I went right at opening, I think it'd still be too crowded. I've tried their hot food bar twice (Indian and Asian) and both times, very dissapointing-bland, blah, blah. For the price I'm paying, it isn't worth it. Whole Foods is 10x better and a much more pleasant shopping experience. The only positive is they have some raw meats, such as duck breast, that Whole Foods and other stores do not carry. read more

Excellent selection, from high-end stuff to daily needs. Most impressive is a commitment to customer service. The staff seems genuinely alarmed if register lines start to grow beyond a couple customers each (and they rush to open new ones). On a recent day when a storm had blown in, Wegmans had employees with umbrellas waiting in case customers wanted an escort to their cars. read more

I'm from the Atlanta area so when I moved to VA I heard nothing but great things about Wegmans. I was very disappointed the staff treated me like they were better than me, not very helpful at all. Wegman's used to be the only game in town for high-end grocery shopping. They've recently rearranged the store to make it thoroughly confusing and disjointed. The staff seems to have been compromised, too. They seem surly and unhelpful. As an example, the Sushi Bar now sells sushi that has a minuscule amount of fish compared to past experiences. The meat department is now packaging most of the meat off-site. The selection and variety is still good, but remains pricey. There are other high end grocery stores in the area that seem to value your business. Suggest you go to those establishments. . read more

I prefer getting my big grocery shopping taken care of here. Items are stocked up. The store is clean. Lots of items to choose from. The sushi is good. Sometimes, coupons are mailed out. We drove in from out of town and wanted Chinese food. We were tired and knew Wegmans had the cafe. PERFECT! Well we loaded our plates and made a salad to go with it. Went into the seating area. Food was cold. All of it. Tasteless too. Many things were out. Granted it was 530 pm and lots of people were grabbing dinner. But all was just room temperature. I hope we don't get sick. Wegmans really puts every other grocery store to shame. I used to live walking distance from a Whole Foods and a Trader Joes, and 2 miles from a nice Giant, but would drive 20-30 minutes to Wegmans instead. Everything is fresh, yummy, and nice. AND reasonably priced, unlike Whole Foods. read more

First, I love Wegmans. Wish I had them where I live. The Fairfax store is smaller than a number of other Wegmans stores and very popular thus crowded. I personally hated the crowds. So agree with one of the people here who mentioned it. Many other Wegmans stores are open 24 hours. The produce in the NY Wegmans stores is much better then that in the Virginia area. No idea why. Their breads and pizza are also better there. But, Wegmans is the best store that I've frequented and I travel all over the country. Wish I had them in my area. read more

Moving over to the east coast from the west coast I was in search for the usual markets, whole foods, trader joe's, ralphs, etc... I was introduced to Wegman's from a friend and low and behold they can call themselves the SUPER market. It really is the mother of all grocery stores with a combination of all the markets out here. They have an amazing food court to tickle that taste bud of yours to the endless cold meats, seafood, cheese, and even kitchen needs you can find. Downstairs is the wine and spirits level. Ample parking and easy to find. There are helping hands everywhere you turn in the store and if you get the Wegman's brand, the pricing is much cheaper. Just a thought. read more

This is certainly the best grocery store that I have experienced so far in my life. The closest runner-up would likely be the Dean & Deluca in Georgetown, but at a much less expensive and grander scale. Their selection and prices are fantastic, and I love the atmosphere and the fresh food that they serve on a daily basis. The people that work there have always been friendly and professional, and I have never noticed an area that wasn't cleaned or maintained well. I LOVE Wegmans! Wegmans is awesome. We only go to this location for groceries now. The prices vary (from really high if you get the organic stuff, to pretty reasonable if you buy the store brand stuff like we do.) Customer service is great here; the employees are always very helpful and courteous. The store carries a massive selection of everything food related, more than any other grocery store I've been to. The only gripe I have with Wegmans is that their buffet seems to have increased in price quite a bit since we've been visiting this location. I've been to this location numerous times & can easily say this is the best supermarket in the area. I'm not a beer/wine drinker but they recently redid this section & there are so many offerings you could easily spend hours perusing the various choices. The prices on everything can vary from very cheap to (of course) very expensive. I would not say this is the cheapest grocery store I've ever been to, but it's easily the nicest with the largest selection. I only wish it was closer! Wegmans (and particularly this location) is the best grocery store I have ever been to. When a friend started raving about Wegmans a few years ago, it was hard to believe that it was possible for a grocery store to be so cool. However, when I visited my first one, I realized he was right. As everyone has said, most Wegmans have everything you could want, and more. This location has hot bars for almost any different kind of international foods, a phenomenal organic salad bar, huge upstairs eating area, a cafe, a pizza section, sushi, and that is just the prepared food. The fromagerie is amazing, and has a great mix between affordable, delicious cheese and really obscure, expensive cheese. They have a learning table, where you can try different styles and types of cheese to find what you are looking for. They also have a huge bakery, outstanding seafood/produce section, the beer/wine section is large and has many different small local and national brands, and they even let you do the whole "mix and match" six pack. It is almost like a warehouse full of alcohol, right in your friendly neighborhood grocery store. They even have product samplings on the weekend. I almost exclusively buy their generic products, as they taste just as good, if not better, than the brand names. There is basically a whole CVS inside the store, with everything from shampoo to dinner plates to dog leashes. I love how Wegmans is a grocery store for everyone- someone who needs something on the go, families looking for affordable food, and people who want to spend a little more and splurge on expensive things (truffles, fine wine, cheese, ect.) They offer organic options for most of their products, and try hard to bring you the best value for what you are paying for. Probably the biggest reason why I love Wegmans is the great customer service, across the board. Other than one location in PG county, MD, I have never walked in to a Wegmans where I have encountered someone who seemed bothered by me asking a question, and their check out lines are excellent. Everyone has a smile on their face, and seems like they genuinely enjoy working there (which is a stretch for most grocery stores). This seems to me to be a testament of how the management treats their employees, and this makes me want to support them even more. From the people stocking the shelves to the cashiers to the food preparers, the employees are great and make it a wonderful experience. I will drive 20 minutes to go to the grocery store because there is no where better, and if I am going to spend time buying things as unfun as groceries, I want to do it at a place I like. I was so thrilled when I moved to the area back in 2009 that there were Wegman's stores in VA! And lo and behold, a Wegman's that was within driving distance for me! I have never had major issues with this location, my only complaint would be that their produce department is a hit or miss depending on their stock for the week. A lot of the produce I have purchased at this store has not stayed fresh for that long after I purchased it and sometimes the stock of produce they have doesn't always look the freshest. I don't know if it is because of the supplier they get it from but I hate paying for fresh produce that isn't so fresh. But other than that, this location has great customer service and ample parking. read more

Amazing grocery store in Ashburn, VA as good as it gets. I use to go to one in Rochester, NY during my college days and definitely missed finding one near by. Between the huge collection of Beer, Wines, Fresh Organic Bakery & other international options. Wegmans definitely exceeds all expectations of your local grocery store. The hot food buffet area is pretty boss. Lots of cool stuff to try, although you probably won't go nuts about the food once you've eaten it. It's decent enough, definitely better than any buffet in the region. The sandwich place is pretty good though, and their little coffee shop is good too. Their sushi rocks. Their bread selection? Wizardry. Want some fancy cheeses? You won't find more selection than here. And of course they have a pretty good deli for sandwich meats, a place that makes fancy desserts like cakes and what not, and tons of different types of meat and fish which is pretty cool. But my favorite part about this store is the beer and wine selection. Wegman's has a huge selection of fantastic import beers and even rarer domestic seasonal stuff. I really love perusing their beer and wine aisles. I'd give them 5 stars just for that reason alone. read more
