Webster University is my alma mater, and I am still in love with it. The Computer Science and Mass Communications departments are fantastic. Oh, and did I mention that a recent graduate of the Music Department has been voted the top new Opera talent in the country? If you are looking for a great university where you can make some real connections then check out Webster. The University features small class sizes which are typically under fifteen students. There is a parking garage that never seems to get full, and you can easily walk the entire campus in just a few minutes. If you want that real college experience, I do recommend living on campus as otherwise you'll likely miss out on a lot due to poor campus communication.

We came here to see The Elves & The Shoemaker, it was a lot of fun and sparked some nice enthusiasm from our 8yo boy and 5yo girl.

I visited this campus in June 2023 as part of an exploration of Forest Park (which is right across…read morethe street). The architecture is pretty and the campus includes a nice art museum that's worth a short visit. During the summer, it was relatively quiet on campus, but it was easy to visualize a busy place in the fall semester. Did not see many places to eat or shop - but maybe that was on the opposite side of campus (away from Forest Park).

Writing my 1,000 Yelp review for my alma mater - Washington University in St. Louis! What a crazy…read moremoment having only graduated a few years ago. When I asked my friends how many stars they would give WashU, it ranged everything from 1 star to 5 stars, but many of them noted to me that whatever I gave our school, I needed it be just based off of the experience at the school not what I can personally bring into the experience. Having gone to college here both pre- and post-Covid, I would say that WashU has really changed but I regardless would still give it 5 stars because I couldn't be where I am without this amazing schools. Here's some of the reasons why WashU deserves 5 stars, not necessarily in the order of importance. Also, definitely not an exhaustive list of things that i love about WashU, but just to name a few... - The range of clubs, organization, classes, etc. to take on this campus is honestly wild. You could explore your interest in a very in-depth way and also develop interests that you had no idea about. I've taken some incredibly interesting classes and have joined clubs that I didn't know I had an interest about. - The campus is beautiful! So many amazing places to study and hang out whether that's hammocking in the trees or being tucked in a secret study corner in the DUC. There's always a new place to explore on campus! - I appreciate how there's always something going on, on campus. Every week there's so many talks whether that's from the professors themselves or people that the campus hired from outside and so many activities and festival and performances to enjoy. You really couldn't get bored on campus. - I appreciate the caliber of people I have met at WashU. Not only is everyone extremely smart, but everyone always has some side interest or hobbies that make them incredibly talented people who I would love to be friends with. And everyone is excited and open to share with you what they are passionate about as well! - POSITIVE PSYCHOLOGY - This class is actually incredible. The course is about how to become happier, not happy... happier, and it provides a lot of scientific-backed ideas and ways of thinking to go about it. This class, especially if you take it your senior year, is so relevant to the ways we build healthier and happier habits in our lives. I simply couldn't recommend it more. However, there are also many reasons how WashU could improve: - The tuition increases are not ideal. I understand why schools do this to account for inflation, etc., but especially during Covid when everything was online, it felt weird to have a tuition increase for a subpar experience. - The dining food before and after Covid was massively different. For example, Ibbis used to have all you can eat lunch every day of the week but after Covid they decided to have a set menu that barely changes. Also, the quality of the food also dropped while the prices rose dramatically. - I do not appreciate that you don't have the option to be a part-time student if you take less than 8 semesters. Sometimes, especially in your senior year, you just don't have that many classes to take and would like to still be at WashU but not pay $70k to be there. I think there needs to be more flexibility on the definition of being a student. - Like every campus, WashU can be gate-keeping on the types of people who are selected for certain activities. Especially in your freshman year, its hard getting rejected to every club you ever applied to. WashU needs to have a more open door policy especially on the student-run organization level as many of these clubs are run by students who not necessarily have leadership experience or rather had examples of what good leadership could look like. - There could be more robust entrepreneurship culture at WashU. Especially a school with this caliber, entrepreneurship is not as integrated into student life as I would have liked. I think having ideas that corporate isn't the only path to take would be nice to have known earlier on and then it would simultaneously be incorporated through the startup alumni network. I am so grateful to have gone to WashU and I would make the same decision over and over again.

Well, this is my Alma Mater. A graduate of 2004. So, I am a little bias. My review will not focus…read morethe curriculum but will provide the benefits of taking a few hours to enjoy this lovely campus. Concordia is tucked back in the Clayton neighborhood and sits behind the former CBC, turned Concordia Seminary, turned Washington University building that sits on the corner across from St. Mary's Hospital. I've met some people who have lived in the area and didn't know the place even existed because it really nestled in the community. The campus is gorgeous with little courtyards and smaller grassy knolls, which offers a lovely areas for quiet contemplation and mediation. You may bump into an eager seminary student who is quick to offer the "saving message", but don't worry they don't bite. The chapel is lovely and offers a traditional church setting with large clear windows, a minimalist altar and cross that is breathtaking, and a gorgeous organ. If architecture is your thing than do not pass up the gothic german stylings with slate roofs that probably costs more than the newer airport expansion. If mid-70's history is your thing than you can see the areas where the infamous "Walk Out" took place making national news. The library offers anything and everything relating to history, religion, and philosophy and is hailed as one of the top 10 theological libraries in the nation and highly regarded in the world. I doubt you will find a "Choose Your Own" adventure but you will find something in Greek, Hebrew, Latin, Sanskrit, and other various languages. There is also something in the language of "Veggie Tales" in the DVD area. Lastly, make sure you book a tour and can hit the bell tower and the original smaller chapel where a failed exorcism led to a young boy to be exorcised by the local Roman Catholic priests. The story was properly documented in a nonfiction book by Father Malachi Martin, a fictional book by William Blatty and later a movie called "The Exorcist", perhaps you've heard of this little film? The sequel sucked. If you are interested in learning about theology then I suggest going to iTunes University, as there are many lectures for free. This seminary was one of the first seminaries to be approved by Apple and to use this outlet to serve the public. However, you do miss out on those nice seminary students.

The curriculum is minimally taught, and the tests poorly correspond with the lectures that are given. They do not work with their students, even when instructions are poorly conveyed. They never take circumstances into account if problems arise, and only want their students to be herded through without issues. If you make problems you will get slammed and left behind. Professors and admins take forever to respond, even when urgent responses are needed. You have to arrange your practicum, which they make a horrible ordeal with the amount of paperwork they require and the snail's pace that information is returned. One time I submitted paperwork to have a preceptor, and did not hear back for 3 MONTHS. I felt like professors wanted little to do with their students, only talking to them when necessary for specific assignments.
