Gave them 2 pair of jeans, sneakers, and 2 jackets. They bought everything except for one jacket. Staff were nice and friendly. Fairly straightforward process. I expected $20 more but I wasn't in the mood to fuss or question the price, don't know if that would have added a buck or two. I parked in the neighborhood for free :) All in all, pretty quick and no problems at all.

The husband seems to always find something nice at a great price. Today, the daughter was quick to find several items. But given her limited luggage space, she was forced to choose only two -- jeans in the style she's been searching for and a Free People top. The store is clean and overall organized, but the space between the racks is quite narrow making it awkward for two people to be in the same section. At one point a woman unknowingly jabbed me a couple times with hangers as we were looking at opposite racks. Check out has always been friendly. I've also sold and consigned a few items at this location. Understanding what they are currently buying and only bringing a few (5-10) select pieces has made the process very easy. I always take my sales in trade which has paid for many items for the husband and daughter. :)

Goodwill, good selection…read more Goodwill Southern California Retail Store & Donation Center - Sherman Oaks is always filled with folks. They have personable staff, a solid selection and the donation center is very well run. The wait to checkout always varies even when there's only one or two people in line or no one at all. We (the sales clerks and two other customers) witness a man walk out the store with an arm full of clothing and misc items O.O I was like oh my... In situation of theft staff can engage verbally but should not pursue. Noting shoplifters and pulling them up on security cameras to prevent them from returning it's the safest way to keep everyone safe, customers and all staff included. You never know what someone is capable of or going through. It's pretty sad, but I think they handled everything exceptionally well. I pop in for time to time for misc items. A couple months ago I popped in for props for an indie feature I worked on including some nice lamps and men's clothes. More recently I shopped for a friend and also a little for myself finding two great long sleeve shirts, a cool board game and a Dia De Los Muertos ceramic art piece I'm mailing to my friends up in the bay area for their space. Everything is clean, layed out and the staff on the floor are always polite and diligent with replenishing empty spaces. I was impressive with the new inventory also. Parking is an adventure here for sure. I can't remember the last time I drove here, mostly because I enjoy walking and riding the local metro busses. Spaces are limited and when cars are coming in and out, everything is only one way so it gets congested during peak hours. Highly recommend metered street or paid lot parking, though you can luck into things on the back streets, like Dickens, if you don't mind a little stroll. For the donation center you can request a pickup if you meet the minimum or drop off, check the online list to see what's accepted (mainly for household items, miscellaneous items and furniture. Donation center is open from 10AM to 6PM daily with the retail store open from at the same time, but until 9PM. Great deals throughout the week.

Overall, location is near busy intersection of Ventura blvd and kester, come early to drop off sometimes they stop accepting mid day.

Staff looked at me weird, like I was going to steal stuff. Some staff even followed me around, and they thought I did not notice, but I did. Can't even look at their stuff without feeling uneasy, and then they question you, which makes no sense. Like, why do you need to talk? I just want to look around and see if I find anything. Asking me what I was looking for, like, Idk, is a thrift store; you find and buy deals. No one goes into a thrift store knowing what they want; they're just shopping. The worst part is that this place is so unorganized anyways; it literally looks like you're shopping at someone's hoarded house. Stuff is everywhere, and items with pieces have something missing. So much potential here, but such bad service is a shame. Don't recommend anyone come here. Ever!

If they lowered them or did specials would be easier to shop bc it wouldn't be a hoard of stuff. However I've never been here and not found anything.
