She lives in the Dominican Republic and sees wedding after wedding - she knows the BEST vendors, the BEST venues, the BEST of everything, which makes her a perfect resource! And she has absolutely nothing to gain from advising you to use one venue over another, so you know she's being 100% helpful and honest. Her energy is infectious on your wedding day. She is one of the happiest people that I've ever met and it's so obvious that she truly loves her job. She has little tricks to getting the MOST amazing photos of couples. She can really find the beauty in any situation. She updates her blog with photos and commentary on each of her weddings and it's such a great addition to her whole package. Her blog post tells your love story through your wedding photos. It's so special. My wedding photos were electronically delivered to me within 4 weeks of my wedding day (which is a SUPER quick turn-around time given the number of weddings she shoots!). I was given digital copies and am free to get my photos printed using whichever photo printer I choose. The website also allows for unlimited downloads, which made it VERY convenient for us to offer the photos to my close family members. The photos themselves are GORGEOUS! I could not be happier. And we were given SO MANY PHOTOS! This is so special to us because we spent so much money on ONE DAY, we want to remember every detail! All in all, we LOVED Katya Nova Photography. There isn't a single negative thing to say about it. She is worth every. Single. Penny!

Plus for the amount of money we paid them, I feel completely ripped off!!!!

Every Christmas, they go to the Stollery with Santa, to let the sick kids have a photo with Santa. Highly recommend Avonlea for your professional photography needs.

Best decision we ever made. The process was flawless. They are kind, passionate and unbelievably talented in every aspect. They were reliable, fun to be around, and capable of making us look natural and relaxed. Our [AWARD-WINNING - YES! Marcin & Dorota hiked with us to Peyto Lake for the ceremony and then we all drove to Lake Louise for photos and lunch, followed by more photos at Moraine Lake. They were committed to us for the entire day. We even had a sunset helicopter trip planned, but couldn't fly due to a pop-up thunderstorm. They are such wonderful, fun people who have a true passion for photography. They will go out of their way (laying on the ground, crawling into bushes, etc.) to get the perfect shot. We are blown away by this pair and we are already planning another trip from Tennessee to Canada so they can take family photos for us. You will not be disappointed in BDFK Photography!

My work has been featured in Edify — Edmonton's leading city and business lifestyle magazine — and I was named one of Edmonton's Top 40 Under 40 in Avenue Magazine (now Edify) in 2017, and voted Edmonton's Best Photographer in the 2018 Vue Weekly 'Best of Edmonton Awards.' In 2025, I was nominated for an Alberta Magazine Award in the Photograph — People and Portraiture category. I trained under Peter Hurley, widely regarded as the industry's leading headshot photographer, working my way up to Associate and then Mentor within his Headshot Crew program — mentoring other photographers, speaking at his HeadshotMania convention twice, before stepping back to focus on my own studio. I understand the difference between a headshot, a portrait, and a beauty shot, and I build every session around what the client actually needs it for. I also bring a background in film and television performance, which gives me an edge in directing expression and putting people at ease in front of the camera — especially useful for executives and professionals who aren't used to being photographed. Beyond headshots, I'm a regular contributor to Leap magazine and have been featured in PhotoED — Canada's leading editorial photography publication — for my own self-portrait work.
