I love brunch. Saturday brunch, Sunday brunch, coffee brunch, mimosa brunch, brunch for breakfast,…read morebrunch for lunch. Brunch in summer, brunch in fall. Cold brunch...but especially warm brunch. Expensive brunch...but especially affordable brunch.
Café Vero's brunch is warm and affordable, which makes it one of very few in town. Stockholm has plenty of brunch options, don't get me wrong. But many of the brunch buffets are ridiculously expensive, as is the amazing-but-costly brunch at nearby Mississippi Inn.
Sirap near Odenplan has a pretty affordable brunch, but the place itself is crowded and loud and you have to stand in line to get a table.
Café Vero is calm and quiet. There are big tables in the back usually full of families with small kids, but there is also a secluded hallway area where you can sit with your significant other at a private little table in an alcove right by the window. The service is excellent, and the staff are helpful, charming, and funny.
The brunch options are fabulous. You can choose between multiple plates. I usually opt for Brunch 1, which includes both coffee and juice for a lower price than you could add them on separately. It costs 135 kronor.
The plate includes perfectly-done scrambled eggs, toast, a slice of melon, feta cheese, beans, bacon, and two large pancakes. Mmmmmmm.
If you want a quiet brunch place where you'll get tasty but affordable food, good service, and can have a conversation at normal volumes, then Café Vero is it!
