Before we built, we researched and the researched again. We read reviews on all of the homebuilders out there, met with private contractors, and toured countless model homes from countless homebuilders. We read positive reviews, we read negative reviews, and we read reviews where we thought that the claims couldn't possibly be for real. We had a home picked out from one of Wayne Homes' competitors and no matter how many times we removed items from out list, we just couldn't get into the house within our budget. We happened into the Richmond II model home near Norton, Ohio and instantly fell in love. We dove more in-depth into reviews of Wayne Homes and felt some concern based on a couple that we read, but we have read enough reviews on everything form Amazon items to vacation rentals to know that there are some people who just cannot be pleased. Ultimately, we went to the Belmont office and met with Jeanette and she put our mind at ease. We picked everything we wanted and got a quote and were pleasantly surprised that we could get the house we wanted in the price range we felt comfortable with. Through the colors meeting with Megan, we couldn't be any happier. The staff at the Belmont office are great and get so genuinely excited to help people realize their dreams. When the construction phase began, nervousness settled in for sure. This is the phase where many of the complaints we read happened so we were naturally worried. Let me just say, building a house is a huge undertaking with moving parts no one outside of the construction world or outside of homeowners who have undergone the process can remotely understand. There are millions of moving parts and so much of what is happening one day affects things weeks down the road. There are going to be problems, there are going to be setbacks, and there are going to be days where you are stressed to the max. That is where your project manager comes in. Mark is the most amazing person to work with. The man should be corporate employee of the century. When my wife and I decided at the last minute that we wanted six foot windows instead of five foot windows, Mark made it happen. When small snags hit, we barely noticed them because he had them taken care of already. He explained the entire process to us in terms we could understand without being condescending. The contractors all respect him and I think the quality of work that they did reflect that respect. I cannot possibly say enough good things about Mark, he is truly the best. We got our keys days after the global shutdown from the Pandemic and you wouldn't even know things were crazy. During our walk-through my wife and I pointed out some items we felt needed corrected and Mark came back in the days following and made sure they were fixed. To this day, Mark still checks in on us to make sure we are happy and makes sure nothing has come up that needs to be done. The home warranty team is great too! After moving in, we noticed that our water pressure seemed poor in one of our bathrooms and, after calling our local water department and having them check the meter at the road, Mark brought someone from the warranty division over and they replaced the controls for the shower completely. One thing I can tell you is that it is inevitable that things are going to go wrong when building a house, but my experiences with this company show that they will stop at nothing to ensure you are satisfied. read more
