With a big sign and a few picnic tables outside an old building, I assumed it would be mostly hype. Wrong! The place has that complete Rt. 66 Americana vibe inside, and a house burger/ fries combo that could take on Shake Shack's best. Same guys that take the order go in the kitchen to cook. Fresh fries, homemade dressing. There are not a lot of lunch spots in the area, so I'd strongly recommend stopping in for a burger fix.

I tried it is when it first opened... When the lines were ridiculous (shows how much we need more decent restaurants here)... and was unimpressed. I was starving after a late night workout and, it being one of the very few places open so late, I'd give it another shot. I didn't want them to cool off so within 2 minutes of being handed the box (they handed me just a freaking Styrofoam box... no bag), I opened it... Saw 3 small and unimpressive looking chicken fingers... Not particularly hot... Not at all crispy. Dipped one in the pittifully bland (greasy feeling) sauce and ... "WTH.... this tastes like... NOTHING." Bland as hell. I took the others home and put so much seasoning on them I swear the seasoning weighed more than the chicken itself. Why can't we have a Dave's Hot Chicken around here? That chicken is a flavor explosion! KFC puts Cane's to shame and is consistently crispy and flavorful. Chik Fil a is also superior. Canes? Nursing Homes have a competitor in Trexlertown. Never again.

One of today's specials was a shrimp & chorizo hash with blood orange cheese, dill cream with 2 eggs of your choosing. One of the best meals I have had here and I've enjoyed many! So many layers of flavor - the shrimp and chorizo were perfectly cooked as were the small cubed seasoned and perfectly tender potatoes. The cheese was plentiful and the fresh dill added a bright note. I'm not a fan of egg yolks so I enjoyed it topped with egg whites. This was the perfect combo and I savored every delicious bite!
