A tucked away playground that isn't so secret…read more.. Found this playground through a friend who lives in the neighborhood. It's tucked away in suburbia and a collection of baseball diamonds. You wouldn't know it was here unless you live close by. Wonderful place to play! Must be new to the baseball diamonds. During COVID19 review: A playground that isn't so secret...Many visitors were here while we came out during the middle of a work day. There were a lot of kids running around including my own and a friend's. Kids were not social distant. Two kids wore masks while their mom had one on as well. The rest of the kids were not masked. The playground is super fun! Slides, slides, and more slides. Rubber playground surfacing and updated equipment make it phenomenal. The mini zip line seat is the highlight! Rolling slide and horizontal rolling slide. Plenty of swings as well. The playground is an all inclusive one: accessible pieces of equipment that were created and designed that allows all children to play of different abilities, skills, and conditions. We love these playgrounds! Highly recommend visiting! Will be coming back if there are smaller crowds.

Its got a zipline and a seesaw and a huge play set. I recommend visiting. Its a miracle park for handicapped people. And there is a bathroom nearby but its usually locked unless the miracle field is being used. I love going here at least weekly if not more. If you stand from the park side of the (well kept) trail, and go right down the trail. After a five minute walk there is another fun park with a little library. You have to cross the street once though (if you have little runners). I recommend the miracle park no question it is an amazing resource for disabled children and is wheelchair accessible. If you want to know about more good parks in the area, walker johnston park, terra park, and if you are willing to go for a 35 minute ride from the north view park area (urbandale), big creek park. Spacious park with nature in mind…read more Huge park with 3 playground sets to play on! What kid WOULDN'T like this park? During COVID19 review: Came out on a week day 9:00am-11:00am with a friend with her two kids and it was pretty busy. 5 other families with at least 3-5 kids in each family were out here. They were not affiliated with each other. Social distancing is challenging with kids. Families tried to keep their kids together but many wanted to play with each other. No one was wearing masks but adults were keeping distance. BEAUTIFUL park with great scenery (if you don't mind the construction by the IPTV station) Soft trail for walking near the playgrounds and lake and a hard trail for walking/biking into the woods. Fishing is allowed at the lake! Picnic shelters and amphitheater near by. There is also a community center up the hill. Playgrounds are very fun and unique with 1 structured as a tree house. It's a fully equipped park! We enjoy coming here since it's close to our home. Highly recommend exploring this beautiful Johnston park. Might be the best one in Johnston yet!

A small park and splash pad for this Waukee neighborhood…read more First day of June and it was packed! It can be overwhelming when there's a lot of people. Great way to meet new friends tho. Splash pads open up earlier than pools so this place was a hit. I would say the splash pad is aimed for ages 1-5. Any age older might get really bored. The water is a spray ground with two sprinkling trees. The park was kind of hidden between houses. You can definitely miss it to the drive way in. Google maps has the entry marked incorrectly. There is a building you can rent for parties and two covered picnic table areas to seat outdoor parties. No mature trees yet. Tree shade was very few. The play ground is very spacious and open. I would say the playground is aimed for ages 5-10. Overall I think this park is a cool addition for the neighborhood. Bring little kids out here....but be mindful: BIG kids might get bored. 3 stars for esthetically pretty and function. Lost a couple stars because it didn't hit all the fun for my older kids and the water pad wasn't a full splash of fun.

I enjoy the park for the birding opportunities that provides. It has an accessible bird viewing area with easy access for wheelchairs. I've seen red headed woodpeckers there , downey , woodpeckers , flycatchers , wobblers , finches , lots of variety. I also enjoy hiking the trail that's next to the bird area.For a wonderful walk into a burr oak forest with many of the trees looking like they're a several hundred plus years old. It's quiet and cool.Because the trail shaded. The other thing of note is that cut the trail wide enough that you can reasonably avoid ticks. I wish they would create a loop on that trail that would end up , so you would know that you've walked a mile or two. Maybe some volunteers could create it

Also, as you're in the middle of des moines you can get delivery from the town. The tree coverage is very nice and keeps the place cool during the day and the prices are super reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay here and I would suggest it for anyone looking for an RV campsite in or around Des Moines.

Otis has struggled with separation anxiety, but by his third day at daycare, everything changed. Now he gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot and doesn't even look back at drop-off. That alone says everything about how comfortable and happy he is there. He comes home completely worn out from playing all day, which we love. We actually drive 25 minutes out of the way just to bring him here, and it is worth every single minute. We were walking around and noticed there was a playground that was just 10 min from our house! It has a basketball court, soccer field, swings, benches and 2 separate play areas. One play area looks like it was made for toddler age kids and the other for older kids. I love that they have one for the little kids. It was perfect for my son. He loved the slides and climbing. We were with my 9 year old nephew and he loved swinging on the equipment and the monkey bars. And especially the rock climbing wall. The playground also has that rubber ground that's much better than the wood chips you see at most playgrounds. There are also benches located around the playground for parents to sit and watch their kids. Plenty of swings but I do wish they had more than one bucket swing though because at all other parks we've been to there were at least two. It would be more convenient. There is parking but it's also right next to a school so there's more parking if needed. There are trails that lead to the park and that's how we discovered it in the first place. We will definitely be coming back to the park, it's conveniently located and my son and nephew had so much fun and asked to come back another time.

This was my first time at the pools here and I came early Sunday morning for water walking in the lazy river. I was surprised the current was on because it looked like people were mostly hopping along with the current. But after I got in, I could tell this would be a fun workout. And after I walked for about 90 minutes, my legs were like jelly getting used to land again and my back was a little sore. Fun activity to do with a friend so I will be back!

I have never had a good experience at this pool. Last summer my son was going to go off the diving…read moreboard with float things on but we were told no because they would actually drag my kid under and make him drown. IDIOTIC! Thats the complete opposite of what float things do! I asked to speak to a manager and asked where on their "pool rules" does it states that. They had no answer. I also said that we have been to other pools and jumped off the diving boards with float things on and their only response was "well sorry that's just our rule here" and my response was where does it say anything about that. Today was the WORST! Within 5 minutes of being there we got yelled at for snorkels. Not a big deal we put them away. Then, my husband got yelled at for wearing his sunglasses down the slide at age 35. Ridiculous! Then, going around the lazy river my son wanted to get out and hopped out of his tube.. instead of lifting him out of the water immediately we waited we walked to the exit and got yelled at for getting off the tube even though he was tall enough to be in the area. The worst part was my nephew jumped in to the 3ft 10in area and a lifeguard jumped in afterwards. The manage had to come scold us for doing absolutely NOTHING. We did nothing wrong. The lifeguard said she thought he was "too little" and he made her nervous so she jumped in. Funny thing was the same lifeguard DID NOT jump in nor 2 others to actually save a little boy who was struggling and I was the one to swoop in and save him. The manage had to tell me that the lifeguards are trained and that I need to trust them in which I said okay thank you I will be with my nephew and he is actually plenty tall to be in the area... she continued to preach at me in a very demeaning way. I said the matter did not need to be discussed more and walked away knowing that my nephew was in tears because of how they were treating us. Instead of respecting me she went to all her 17 year old friends and talked about me. My nephew sat for over an hour SCARED to get in the water because of how awful we were treated. We will NEVER go back and I advice you DO NOT go to Clive Aquatic Center - unless you want to get yelled at by a bunch of teenagers.
